We have 5121 registered members. I would like to know who has called their county commissioners about this new law coming into effect on Oct. 1st. We can set back and complain on here but if you do not let your voice be heard by calling them then you cannot complain when they opt out. All they hear is from the people calling them and complaining about us. If you were an elected official and only got calls from one side then you would assume that is the what the people wants for their community. Even if you do not know what to say when you call, just ask them to please not opt out on this law. Even if you are a child you can call and tell them that this has to do with your future and you would like for them to not opt out.

This is why nothing gets done about getting places to ride. 53 hits and not the first person said they called their commissioners. If you can't make a call then don't complain when your commissioners opt out and don't complain when you have no place to ride.

I'd like to be a little more informed on the new law before I call the commish.  I'll start searching, but this might be a good time to post a (possibly another) link to some info.   I'm assuming I could get the # out of the phone book.......

I sent out an email last night to the Volusia County commish... still no reply, but not really counting on one either. I will be calling today as well.

You can do a search and find out who your commissioners are, then do a phone book search and get their home phone numbers and call them at home. Can someone who has the law readily available please post it in here. Thanks.
