Folks, The florida dept of forestry sent out to the US fish and Wildlife service a proposal for 24 miles of trails out in Belle Meade(Collier County next to the Picayune). The trails had already been scouted out and where in the process of being marked and US Fish and Wildlife turned it down because we were going to bother some kind of bird, meanwhile they gave a miami developer the OK to build 600 condos in a nearby area. We need to make ourselves heard. These people are the enemy. There main offices are in Vero Beach. Here's their info, start bombarding them with calls. I want us to have a protest in front of their office on October 21st. That will give us a month to plan and coordinate. Any questions, e-mail me @ lswjth2@yahoo.com

Someone with deep pockets must really want
the squares area bad.
I can't believe all the BS that has gone round and
round over this simple deal.

Wow, that stinks! People are so two faced when it comes to "protecting" the wildlife. Construction disturbs a hell of a lot more animals then our atvs ever will... especially in an area with designated trails!

Also, here is the email address to Paul Souza.

A very similar thing has transpired in Dade County in reference to an area many know as The Hump. It is such a shame!
