If you look at the water lines on the trees, you can see that in the wet season it can be waist deep. BC is located in Ochopee between miami and naples on US 41 west of the seminole indian reservation.

sk8r, I live in Kendall and am always looking to ride BC. If you're ever up for some extra company, let me or the website know.  Maybe we can get a big ride going out there.

Yes, I have the 4 watt midland radios mounted to the handlebars with the push to talk button by our left thumb. Speakers and mic are mounted inside the helmets. The wife says that the only chance she has to not have to talk to me and I installed these things!! Seriously, it is really nice to be able to talk to each other on the trails. Not to mention, if we get separated I can always be in contact with her after all, I have the GPS.

It would be great to go riding with some other people from the site at BC. A while back, the Grizz and I organized a ride but we were the only ones to show up. We rode the entire Concho Billie trail start to finish that day.  If anyone else wants to go the first step is getting your ATV inspected and getting your permit. Check out the BC website for information. BC only issues 2000 permits each year and that includes quads, swamp buggies and air boats.

I don't think sport quads will pass inspection at Big Cypress. Further, with the water and mud I don't think it will be the best environment for you. The 15 MPH speed limit tells you how rough the terrain is. Except where the preserve has layed rock down, it is either muddy, under water, or rock crawling. All bad for sport quads.

I was caught on the Concho Billie Trail as well. Had to back track 23 miles the way we came in because the north trail head exit was blocked by waist deep water and we had to turn around and head back in the dark. Got out of the south trail head around midnight. Last weekend we met a group of riders on Concho asking me for directions. They thought the trail was 10 -11 miles long looking at the map they were given at the visitors center. I showed them my GPS which has topo maps of the park and how the trail was about 30 miles long. The park map can be deceiving. I showed them the rest of the trail and the way out.

I've had the permit for the past two years and just haven't found anybody who knows the area. Let me know when the next ride is. I imagine it won't be until after summer rains are done.
