well Ocala doesnt allow knobbies in any class other than peewees... thats the track rule. (see the schedule)

The problem with renting tires is the legal side of it. Since dave and I are Insurance agents we think of that alot. You dont want to rent someone RACE tires and have the tire fail and they get hurt..

LAWSUIT!

Gotcha, Well How about having a Hold Harmless agreement drawn up from an attorney. This was done in the World I.C.E. racing series Derek and I raced in years ago and those tires they lease have screws in them! If this would be too explensive, I would hope those that could will donate them or at least bring them and be willing to loan them out to ease the expense of someone just wanting to try it out. I think the more people we can get out on the track, the more this thing will keep growing. I would love to see membership in the 200-300 range. This would give the league a strong presence at any track and help out tremendously with outside sponsorship.

I hear you loud and clear we need members for sure! I dont think it would be wise for the "league" to go down that road as people can still sue no matter what they sign. (we hear some horror stories) However, if someone wanted to start up a side business renting tires. that might be a good idea... for someone wanting to do that..like...scott Undecided

well Ocala doesnt allow knobbies in any class other than peewees... thats the track rule. (see the schedule) so something has to be done for the 1st timers.

Well, being that I am in the position your talking about...a beginner with knobbies, this got my attention. I have been there before they closed using my knobbies but now Ocala requires FT tires so I am trying to decide if I want to make the investment in FT tires and with that said I wanted to ask a few questions ...

Do I need them for both the front and back at Ocala?

What kind of FT tire do I look for? I see a few differant manufactures, compounds and sizes avilable since I would also be getting them with rims. My quad is a Z400. I see sets on ebay but not knowing what I need keeps me from doing anything. I have tried searching around on the net a bit for this info but really did'nt find anything.

Thanks for any help I can get!

Last time we were up, i was said at the drivers meeting that they wanted everybody(no acceptions) to have knobbies front and rear. Even the lil guys should have some sort of tt tire on the rear. Its hard to find decent fronts for the minis so they were willing to let it slide. But as for everybody else tt tires required. Youre actually doin yourself a favor runnin TTs if its possible.

Mark Potter, you're looking for Hoosiers or American Racers. The fronts are sized something like 18 x 6 x 10, and the rears are usually 18 x 11 (or10) x 10. Most quads have 10" front wheels stock, so you can keep the stock front rims, but you will need to get 10" rear wheels, as most quads come with 9"'s. PM me, and I can provide you with some links to what you need on ebay.
