Yeah, I went to 3 bike shops and nothing, went to the local auto parts and nothing said what the he!! and went to radio shack and to my surprise they have push button starter switches. They are not the square button they are round. Also they will not mount on the bars. They are the ones that have a round nut on them to where you can drill a hole and then mount it with a nut.

that is a lot of money. how do you wire the radio shack switch? just splice the wires and hook them up to the little prongs?

Yeah I soddered two wires to the prongs then spliced them into the old start button. It did not matter which of the two wires went on which prong. I suggest that you find a different button ( not the one from radio shack) unless you have a spot you do not mind drilling.

i dont really know how to sodder. is there any way you can just put the wires through them 2 little holes and twist them? ill look at ace or home depot at switches. i think home depot has them. i was lookin at toggle switches to replace the key on my 300ex. im pretty sure they have some. thanks for all the info.

Yes that is what I did with the wires then I soddered them. Once again I have heard that a kill switch will work, just wasnt able to find one that had two wires. The kill switch will look the cleanest althoug I have a plastice dash with lights so the start button is almost unnoticable.

I'm not familiar with the dirtbike kill button, but I would think if it is only one wire that it would be the power wire. Then when you pushed it that it would ground to the bars completing the circuit.
