OK, I just added it up, and my wife and I are spending $212 a month on 2 mobile phones, hi-speed cable internet and 1 home phone.  Deal

That's way too much money to spend just to talk.  I am now considering going to an internet phone or just nixing the home phone all together.

Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this subject?

Ditch the homephone, do you even use the home phone? I know mine just sits there, I get the occasional advertisement call.

That is alot of money for that.  Maybe try something where you can get them in packages like you said.

Most of my friends have ditched the home phones. (Which sucks when you need to get in touch with someone to bail you out, cell phones don't take collect calls)

I need mine for a fax, so with High Speed Cable, my Fax, and Cell phone, I'm up near 230 a month.

If you don't need a fax, why have a home phone?

What's a home phone? They must be something from the cassette tape era. LOL as he said if you don't need a fax machine what's the purpose of a home phone?

Holy Crap if I paid that much in electric I'd turn Amish! Mine's about $100. But I don't have a family.

I'm in a one bedroom apartment....I only pay about 100 a month.

My office is about 500 a month though.

Everything is rising in price. I can't even get out of the grocery store for under $100.00 per trip anymore.

And I don't even want to mention my Gas Habit.

Yea the utlities good old FPL is robbing use blind.  Each month is always over $300.00, once was $425.00 - Give me a BREAK.....

As for phones, I hear u there too.  I have to have phones for home biz.  Do you know it cost me $220 per month for biz lines, and biz dsl.  That is crazy.  Nextel another $70, oh yea, then there's the home phone another $70.  Oh yea, lets not forget Direct TV, $80.

Yea, no wonder why I am always broke.....

Just becareful, years ago we too got tired off high prices, so we switch home phone to our internet co (comcast), and the phone service was lousey.  We would lose phone srv all the time, and after the hurricane, forget it.  And get this since Comcast didn't do biz phone, I had to keep biz w/bell south.  Only lost srvs on BellSouth for 2-3 days after hurricane, Comcast 2 1/2 months....

No all phones back on bellsouth.

We ditched the home phone a long time ago. It's what, like 65.00 a month, for nothing and we aren't even here most of the time if it does ring  Nerd Not to  mention the long distance thing.  Who still uses that?Huh?

We have a package deal on 2 cel phones and a package deal with Brighthouse for Road Runner internet and cable.

dude,,,,internet phone if you REALLY want a home phone.

I have Sunrocket at home for the phone but only because my mom doesn't have a cell and she stays at my house every now and then to watch my daughter.

I get free incoming on the Sunrocket phone, and 200 minutes to call anywhere for $9.95 per month,,,,no other taxes or nothing added,,,,just $9.95.

they have unlimited plans for $24.95 and the quality is just like a regular phone in my experience.

Don't even get me started on NEXTEL.

I'm liable to declare a wireless jihad against those bastards.

I switched to Verizon out of frustration.
