Bruce Murakami, a client of mine and founder of Safeteendriver.org, is conducting a survey about roadside memorials in Florida. If you have an opinion about this, now is the time to express it. He will be taking this data to a meeting with the DOT in early July. It's a quick 10 question questionaire. Here's the link:

Thanks!

i sent mine but i feel that 2 of the questions are not fair to answer.

like the question of would i erect a road side memorial if i lost a friend in an accident! well i say that depends on if that person was at fault or was being stupid, or was it due to the road condition such as bad curve, no markings, no light. if my friend was stupid and died from it i would be sad but would see no need to alert drivers that an idiot died here X.  now if it was a noted bad curve that was not properly marked or intersection that needed a light then yes i would erect a memorial so that everyone would know to be careful.

the other question is how much would you spend on a roadside memorial! well if i say 50 bucks then im cheap or if i say 1000 bucks then i might be showing off so i say i would spend what it takes to get my point across to other drivers that they are in a bad driving area, SO BECAREFUL.

just my opinion

I like memorials, if they are kept up and not overdone. My best friend of 8 years was killed in a car accident a few years ago *I didnt find out about it until 6 months after it happend when I moved back to the area*. Her mom had her cremated, then moved back to Maine. I lay flowers at her roadside memorial every few months because that's the only place I have.

They can be good and bad things, just like everything else. There's one on the Lake Mary exit that always has so many flowers that it seems to more distracting then anything else.
