last year we had a friend come with his duskey, here in key largo, he had a 225 e tec, and he burnt more gas then our twin 150 4s...

i think there an alright engine, but 4 strokes will always be superior for boat engines.

and for the price on an e tec, you might as well just spend the little extra for a 4 stroke

Once you have a 4 stroke you will never go back. I have a Yamaha 150 2005 on a 20' lake boat and it hauls butt, burns no fuel, I have to look back at the water exhaust to see if its running.

go with reliability-yamadogs or mercs...4 strokes are chaeper to run but you need to make sure you will use it enough to recoup the extra costs-think about the hpdi's also-they are pretty efficient-

I would post my boat but don't know how

Ok, and everyone here thinks I'm rolling in cash?  I don't even have a boat to post.  Not even a P.O.S. boat.  I have to drool over  y'all toys.  Very nice boats!  One day I'll be able to step up to the plate w/ my own boat.  You heard that right.  My own boat.  Not a husband or b/f's boat.

You made that.... woah  Shocked

Its a 84 BAJA go fast, had a cuddy. More like a 2 bed condo up front heavy as hell.It also had a pilot house custim made for top.One day I will gather pics & post thread on the rebuild.Basically it started out as go-fast big blocks ,converted to a SEA WORLD research vessel already with a bracket & 97 yammy 250 carb's 100 gal fuel.

I gutted it to balso core, rebuilt gunnels, installed 250 gal fuel,50 gal, fresh water,500 qt fish box,400lb ice hold all the under deck storage you could imagine (fit 10 immigrants under deck & wouldnt know it LOL)
Everything on the boat was got from flea mkts, liquidators,ny where I could get a deal. Went to 99 ox66 I got a deal from a doc who had 30 hrs on them & wanted 4 strolkes to save $$ on fuel.well he lost 12k on the motors? Go figure didnt argue.Bennett sport tabs, fresh & salt washdown,Island runner console-vector tower modded to boat,100 gal live well in rocket launcer seat, all the lighs, nusic etc you could need, topped off with 10" color radar overlay, gps, depth to 1100 ft all the bells & whistles Furuno Nav net. most expensive thing I bought new (9K). 180 gal resin, fib mat,all the itchin a kid with chicken pox would do times 3 years..and 3 1/2 years  of my life....... Boat runs out 55 fully loaded with all above. 63 empty on fumes.

Was it worth it HELL YEA! A new 32' set up similar would be hugh $$$$

Sorry guys I'm not looking for a husband.  I don't want to lose half of what I end up having.  Life is fine the way it is.  Thanks for the concern though.

Its almost getting too hot to ride, I'm going to tear my bike down for a rebuild soon so I'm heading for the water for a few months.
I'm going to the Keys in 2 weeks for some dolphin fishing and diving. Then in July we'll be headed to Crystal river for some scalloping. Then shrimping in the St. Johns river. Then back to the Keys for lobster. So.... bring me 2 pina coladas and lets set sail.

We'll be up in Steinhatchee in late July for scallops and again in Sept. Nice flats fishin in the AM, done scallopin by 1 and drinkin beer!

Thanks appreciate it.The only downfall is whenever I run back from the islands 8 out of 10 times I am stopped at the dock & boarded for a "safety inspection" Huh BS .When the boat sits in the water its got a sweet profile, real stealthy.

If you think about the costs.Thats the whole reason we startted going over instead of the Keys.It would take 4 hours to get there.Fuel traffic, finding a launch, trailer storage for a f-250 quad cab 8' bed & 30' trailer, costs of hotel etc,,,, 5 guys divided by $150 only $30 each reasonable. When you are allowed to spear lobsterin season of course.Or get summer crab  Wink for luch or dinner & all the conch, grouper snapper ?? Why stay here.

pick a date for G.B.  I got a 31 ft chris craft cc w/ twin 225 yamadogs-I should be able to keep up with you.  I can trailer to some extent but towing a triple axle w/ 1/2 gmc takes its toll...

PS.   5 guys, I dont think so.
