Ok here are the details. The track owner said he bought the place a year and a half ago, before that it had been closed for 5 years. Here's the rest:
*they currently have 35-50 karts every Sat
*racing starts at 7:15
*entry fee is $20, gate fee is $7
*trophies: if at least 8 in the class, 3 places trophy
*located 20 miles North Fl/Ga line, 2 miles off I-75
*track is is a 1/5 mile D shaped oval, made up of 100% Ga orange and white clay with tires and hay bale barriers; corners are about 30 wide. Surface is watered before the heats and before the main. The corners and straightaways are Banked and the karts race two and three wide. I think he said the track is approx 1330 ft around and some fast karts have lap times around 14 sec. Somebody do the math and compute the average MPH.
*karts do rolling starts, we will start on a green light like just like Ocala.
*NO KNOBBIES on the rear, his bread and butter is karts.
*No pit riding: karts have to be pushed in the pit area, not sure how that would apply to quads.
We can come up anytime but it'd be best to make as big a showing as possible.
Anybody object to June 17 or July 15?
Even July 1st if everyone doesn't already have plans.

I was kind of thinking July 15 to give people who still need tires plenty of time.

Not sure which Kart rules would apply to us but he said we need to let him know the rules we go by.

Hey Guys,
Me,Derek,Dave, and Scott all rode this track last night, 6/3. This track is super smooth with alittle banking, alot of TRACTION and speed for a 1/4 mile track. Anyone who has raced Dade City, this track is alot alike just bigger. Its different at first because of the D shape. Turn 1 & 2 is a sweeping corner with full throtle speeds going into the back strait. 3 & 4 is tricky but still pretty fast coming across the line to the front strait away which is 3/4 the size of the back strait away. Everyone get on the ball for JULY 15th we need atleast 10 or 12 to go and put on a good show. For the most part 95% of the kart racers were super nice and welcomed us to there track. The main thing like Dave posted above is NO KNOBBIES, sorry but for right now you need a full flat track setup, so we dont rut the track up for the karts. HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE IN JULY. DOUG

Hey Doug,
It was great you guys came up and hung out with us. Next time I will have the 450 back together so we can go out and play around on the Valdosta track. I'd like to have a full day of test and tune with our 450's up at the shop when I get some sprockets to speed mine up.
Dave,
I got a new screen name for you........LOWRIDEDAVE.....what do you think?

Doug,
You couldn't have said it better, the Valdosta track is smooth, banked, fast, consistent, and above all it has GRIP. As far as location, it's about 20 miles over the GA/Fla state line , then 2 miles off I-75. The track owner Dale is super nice and really enjoyed the exhibition we put on for the crowd. He even said the spectators wanted to know when we would be back to race. The owner told us he would run all the quad classes first so we can head out early if anyone is driving home that night. If you want to stay overnight there are hotels and a campground 1 exit south, about 5 miles from the track. I will put in a call to Dale and let him know July 15 so if any of you don't already have FT tires
www.ronniesmailorder.com
can get you hooked up. The track is awesome.

yes dave, the valdosta track rocks over ocala!! !!
when the track had a groove in the main i was running
50mph in the corner and about 65 down the straight. in ocala i was going 40 in the corners and 60 down the straight and the valdosta track is smaller!! !! !! !! so it is a faster track for sure..... most everyone was cool there and liked to see the quads run.i look forward to racing there with everyone....
the fences are a little close to the track but i think it will be ok. me and doug were talking and thought mabey only 6 quads on the track at the time... just a thought... the track is very smooth but is very strange due to the D shape of the track.it will take some getting use to for those people that have never raced a D track. i think there will be some good racing there for sure!!
HEY DAVE, BOUNCE THAT LOWRIDA FOR ME YO!! !!

Derek,
One thing for sure it would be much easier to race Valdosta as often as Team Thunderbowl would like to. I might try it out on the 450R!! Come get some Gary.

Derek,
You know I still want to race while the 330 is down. I figure I can still have some fun even if I get smoked on it, but you never know I might surprise some people too.
