Designated Trails was the USFS fair to all parties

Found this in the opinion section of yesterdays star banner.
Can’t see the Forest?
Ocala National Forest is going to a designated trail system that will mean everyone - hunters, off highway vehicles should stay on the trails. Hunters won’t be able to use their tree stands, Rodman Pit area will be closed and five miles of trails will be available for off road vehicles at Big Scrub.
Was the Forest Service fair to all parties when it designed designated trails? It seems like the Ocala National Forest developed the trail system not for the end user but for the people who had the most money.
The Florida 4 Wheel Drive Association appealed the designated trail system, and wanted more day use areas, isn’t it ironic that the appeal judges were USFS people.
From the time I was 7 years old my father and I spent quality time together riding in the Ocala National Forest. I discovered a passion that I didn't know I had about the outdoors and motorized vehicles. Due to limited trails I will lose this time with my child.
With 300,000 plus acres of forest, I think with balanced management, all groups can have been supported. Areas could have been provided for each group of users.
It seems the Forest Service did not do a very good job in balancing all the end users of the forest. I, you and our children will pay the price for the USFS mismanagement of designated trails.

I being 28 years old and riding the ONF since I was 11, have heard stories from my mother and her siblings about when they were younger(early teens and before) that my grandfather would hand them a couple bucks and they would take off in the old army jeep and fill the tank,,,,then head off into the forest for a weekend of playing.
Yes this is at the same place that some are familiar with today as the Id@ Tr@ils,,,,,,,I'm trying to get as much riding in now as I can before it is gone to legal riding.
