I am wondering how fast I can get this bike or if I should sell it and buy a diff 1. I have a few freinds with banshees and some other bikes that are pretty fast but im not sure what mine will take. I found a 455 big boar kit I am looking at. A few thing I was thinking of doing are Big boar kit, Edelbrock carb, CDI box, K&N, and the hot cam kit all at once. I have a yosh slip on and have to but the header but I am not sure if all this is worth it. I am looking for a fast 4 stroke cause I ride in the dirt at the hollylands and every 2 stroke I see there is blowing up or over heating. My freind Johns bombader? made 49 hp at the rear wheels on the dyno yesterday and ronnies banshee made 75. Is there any way to keep up with that banshe? Thanks for any info.

Umm.. I guess you didnt read the whole thing.. 75hp is about 30 more than he will ever make with that 400 with those mods he plans on putting on.

MY 400EX STAYED CLOSE TO A BANSHEE WITH PIPES. DONT KNOW IF THATS ANY GOOD. MY BIKE HAS A LITTLE GET DOWN. GOT A NEW YOSHI PIPE COMING IN. CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT DOES NOW. BEFORE I WAS STAYING RIGHT NEXT TO THE 660.

Thats BS. My Blaster kept up with my friends 400ex with a slip-on Big-gun and K & N filter. I raced my friends Banshee and he whipped on my arse bad, and he doesn't have to much just pipes, filter and reeds. AND I know for a fact that no little 400ex is going to keep up with mine or anyone else's Raptor 660. Unless it has a streetbike motor in it....

yamaha72, youre right when you say his 400 wasnt running rigth next to a 660, theirs no way. i remember a long time ago i had a friend race another freind, it was z400 against raptor 600, both stock.
the z 400 owuld pull in acceleration but the 660 killed it in topend,

if a z beats a 400 ex, and the z gets beat by the rappy, i doubt the 400 will keep up for too long with a 660..........

littlebus- It's hard to keep up with a mild bolt-on shee. What type of riding do you do? Trail or mostly open areas? That will be able to determine on on whether to keep your 400 or sell it for something different. -Mark

I ride in the marshy mud in the hollylands and dont have any problem getting through it. Actualy I get through better then most of my freinds cause mine is so light and when i get stuck all I got to do is hit the reverse knob and back out while they are getting down in the mudd to pull there tanks out. The bombader (sp?) is a tank. It is fast but when it gets stuck that pregnant dog sinks. What is my hp stock? I dont know if any of you know him but the shee is Ronnie Wilsons. He drive a renegade mustang that runs 7's. The banshee went 7.60 in the 8th and the bomb went 8.20. What I like about mine is I have reverse and electric start and after rideing all day in the mud im not about to split my fingers open pullin some cord or kick start this pregnant dog everytime I stall. I was right next to a stock shee with just a slip on but I need to go faster. My bike is like new and has about 5 hours on it but I may sell it for a better bike if I have to.

all you have to do to keep up with that banshee is turn Cheesy he may be fast in a straight line but in the trails you should kill him Cool

My banshee is very reliable i have the TDR HIGH PERFORMANCE REBUILT CRANKSHAFT trued to .001" and welded and i just got 2005 cylinders for the engine that are on right now and i am running wiseco STD pistons in it. When i get the bike ported i will be blowing DS650's off the road!

O yeah don't get the big bore kit  for the engine because it makes the engine unreliable. I have a polaris predator that has the big bore kit in it and it has not started in 3 months something is bad in the engine!

You can make any motor reliable if you do it right. Big bores will last just as long as a std. bore motor will if done right. Now if you go with like 14 or 15:1 compressions, thats when parts start wearing out quicker.

Rode the Z400 today. I went from two stroke to four...what a ride. Shee are good for drag, not trails. I don't need to go faster through trails than what I did today. And jumps...Wheeeew!
