Identification

I took my Drivers License and made a copy of it and then took some 2 inch clear package tape and covered it to kind of like laminate it, then cut around the eges and thats what I carry a lot of times. That way if you loose it, its no big deal but you still have a form of picture ID on you. By laminating it with clear tape then it last a long time and is waterproof. I do this to a lot of important papers and phone numbers that I want to keep in my wallet. I just copied it in black and white but it works excellent.
The same could be done with other information that should be carried while riding such as any health problems (high blood pressure, current prescriptions, allergies, etc) and contact information just in case they need to get a hold of your family and friends. This is a tip I will be putting to use. Thanks
I never thought about the emergency numbers or health stuff but thats good. That 2 inck tape keeps everthing dry. Do you social security cards, anything on your wallet just in case you forget to take it out of you pocket before you go riding so it does not get wet if it rains or you fing a deep hole where all at once your swimming with your wallet

If you read the back of your SSC it says Do Not Laminate.
Just letting you know.

Its illegal to carry a copy of your drivers license like that. SVT is right about the Social Secuirty card too. It is a good idea though to keep emergency and medication info on you.

Didn't know it was illegal for stuff like that. I would rather have copy of a picture Id of some kind on me then not have anything at all.

All I ever carry on me are copies. I copy all my certs for work, Driver's license and emergency contact numbers on a sigle sheet of paper. I burn about a dozen copies of that sheet for backups. The originals stay with what ever veh. I'm driving so they can be readily accessed if needed.
Granted, local law enforcement prefers originals but can be pretty forgiving if you have a copy with you they can hold until you get back to your veh.

The rangers in ocala suggested to a group of us riders that we carry a copy of our drivers license. They said they often cannot locate family members of injured riders as they don't know who they are treating.
