I am looking into the same thing. After Scooter doing all this work to my bike and me putting all this money into it.. I would die if anything happend to it. I have Allstate right now and they dont cover ATV or Motorcycle insurance so I am having to look elsewhere. I know Progressive has it and my quote was only $270 a year! Any other companies have ATV insurance? What experiences have any of you had?

Check into Progressive online, a lot cheaper on line. Both my quads for around $200.

Check out the discussion thread over in the "stolen ATV watch":

http://www.atvflorida.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=stolen;action=display;num=1089426584

I have www.atv-line.com Mine is $200 a year including uninsured motorists.

I would not waste your time with the major insurance carriers (the Home and Auto ones)  Go with a company that specilizes in motorcycles & ATV's.  Your rates are better and they know how to write a policy.

i spoke to an insurance guy today that works for a company other than Progressive and he recommended Progressive to me and he said he has his own quad insured with them as well. The rates were very reasonable for the amount of coverage that you get.

i have state farm insurance, 18 dollars a month, and that is 250 dollar deductable....watch the deductable, that basically determines the rate.  All insurance companies are going to be about the same.  Never had a problem with state farm paying out a claim, had them for 9 years...

I was going to insure all 4 of our quads with progressive however they wont ever think about insuring the quads for our kids, they say they wont insure any quad made for riders under 16. can anyone tell me where we might be able to get the little ones insured?

We did a quote online yesterday with Progressive for our three quads and they want $900 a year.  I am going to check around before I decide.

Wow, when I called USAA, they treated mine like a car.  Made me carry all the same stuff as my cars and it wasn't cheap.  Is this a separate policy from your auto?

mine is for if it is wrecked or stolen.  if it is stolen, i just have to have reciepts of parts that i bought for it.  homeowner's insurance will not cover a quad if it is stolen out of a garage USUALLY.  Atleast state farm does not.

You must have a State Farm agent that knows the ropes.  Mine wrote me a inexpensive policy and I was happy with it, but then they cancelled it a month later because the underwriters couldn't figure out where a quad fits in.  Auto or RV?  UGH.  Shocked

yes, it's totally separate from auto.  I had to get the right person on the phone to do it, but it's just for theft, or damage and covers total replacement cost.

We have state farm as well with comp and collision with a 250 ded.For 5 we pay less than $300 a year and thats with us making up their value , including add-ons. Our agent wasn't sure if they could do it without other policies though so you would have to ask.
