I'm thinking about getting a new quad & was wondering what everyone else thought about the 2006 Honda Rincon vs. the 2006 Honda Foreman 500 4x4 ? ? ? ?
Suggestions please !

Go for rincon They are pretty good machines to go by
I have heard on atvtv show on great outdoor network channel
during this year. But rincon it is almost like honda rancher 4x4 machine
with more cc's into it.
Thanks,

First of all, a Rincon is NOTHING even close to a rancher.
If I had to do it all over again I would go with the Honda Forman Rubicon, its the one right below the Rincon.
The Rincons overheat if you don't make some mods to the oil cooler/radiator and keep the radiator and oil cooler CLEAN. The other thing is the Rincon doesn't have a low range for pulling and heavy mud.
Other than that I LOVE my Rincon, I've never had an overheating problem until I snorkeled it which caused a lean condition, re-jetting now to fix that.
If you like to power slide around corners the Rincon is not for you, stick with a solid rear axle quad. If you want comfort, go with the Rincon, I love mine. Also the Rincon can keep up with most people on the trails, but alot of that is knowing the quad and experiance of the rider.

I agree with Freak, I love my Rincon too but given the chance again would buy the Rubicon.
The radiator does tend to clog up with mud though causing overheating problems.
The Rincon is very smooth and pretty fast too.

My friend hads a used Rubicon 04 model
and he told me they are easy to fix and he's getting it for
free down in napes in next few months and he told me it's
needs wiring work.
But, go with rubicon it's a heavy dutey 4x4 machine
and it huals better towing power i read, that in dirt
wheels magzines during last year issue.
My best bet do your research homework on quads you are
looking to buy and alot web searching into it, and then you might
come up, with answer between there or What.

what do you want to use the quad for?
??
trail riding and site seeing?
or mud and water and pulling?
the rincon is a great ride! plush suspension and easy to handle but it has no torque!!!!!!!!!!none!!!!!!!!!!!!!NONE! the only thing good about the rincon is the suspension!
the forman rubicon on the other hand is a TORQUE MONSTER!!!! great for big tires and deep mud or pulling trees out of your way.
I SAY GET THE RUBICON! by the way.................i have both!!

But does the Rincon have a lot of torque? lol j/k
I would say go with the Rubicon, they are great bikes and awsome mud machines.

I agree w/ the Rubicon. I have too many friends w/ Rincon's. They all have overheating problems when we go mudding. The way the radiator is set up is rediculous to say the least. Until they go back and redesign it stay away from it for mudding.
However if you are going to use it to ride double and do trail rides then this would be a great bike. The suspension is the only upside to it.....like they said above.
Rubicon's are great hands down and I've heard not complaints about them.

If you do as Yunt says, just make sure you always ride with a Honda rider to pull you out the mud.

Joe have you ever rode a Rubicon that was tuned and running right? Not the BS factory setup. The Dealer Monkeys usually don't take the time to tune them properly.
Also My Rincon is an 05 cause I didn't want the Fuel Injection (1st year in production NO THANKS, I remember my 03 6.0 Powerjoke, which is why I'm driving an 01 Powerstroke 7.3ltr Monster)
Before I snorked my Rincon I could wheelie it, after rejetting it I expect the same.

Rincons are nice but it looks like too much to go wrong to me. The whole torque converter was setup with an extra clutch to bring the power back from the wheels for engine braking, then the whole 3 speed tranny seems to have no low end and it doesn't have much of a top-end either. I'd go with the foreman.

It was a joke...I have seen some Monster Honda's ..I am not a Fan of Honda's..and with yours being an 05 Now I understand.... I have snorkled many a bike...and only time a re-jetting was needed was in my old Eiger. I will say ..the radiator problem on the 06 stems from a pi$$ poor design.

Well just think about, what your going use atv for?
Then you will find your perfect machine you'll go for if hads
best mods of features or etc.
Choices can be diffrent sometimes in other ways.

The Rubicon is a great machine, I rode an '05 last summer up though steep mountians in TN. Lots of power. Personally, I prefer a clutch sport bike the way I ride, but the Rubicon has a very comfortable ride, the suspension is far better than the Foreman. It has an automatic shifting profile, but you can take it out of auto and shift with buttons once you get used to it. Best of all, it's a Honda
