Here we go, another area that is shut down in Collier County. Don't cry and complain if you wont write letters or send e-mails or call or attend rallys or meetings or you dont even want to post. It's your choice....

Whatta you mean shut down? From the article it pretty much wasn't a Legal riding place from the start. So what's there to write or post e mails about?

This just shows how important these 640 acres that were promised to the county by the SFWMD are. We have no LEGAL riding area where we can ride with our Families. The contract date has expired and we still dont have our riding area.

dude,
that place has been illegal to ride for years. It was just a matter because the have developed all around the preserve. In fact 12 years ago they cracked down on riding out their.

The 640 acres is a joke. They will never get 640 in collier county to ride. The cost of land is outragieous(sp)

Unless the FWC or whom ever is in charge allows atv usage in the picaune forest you will be stuck riding on private property.

Whos all crying like you keep saying?   Huh

Dont you think that we should be putting pressure on the SFWMD to come up with the land or have the contract thrown out if they cannot find the land? The point im trying to make is that there are no LEGAL riding areas for families in Collier county. I, for one, would like to see the Picayune area opened up again, at least, until the 640 acres are found. As for the people crying for the land, I'm one of those. I have a 14 year old and a 6 yeay old, and i used to able to ride in there with my family. Think of all the other people that have families and also used to go in there with jeeps, swamp buggies and so on. Plus it's the principle of the matter: WE have a signed Contract and the date has expired and we still dont have a LEGAL  family riding area in Collier county...Rick
