The dual mufflers was mainly, I thought, to lower decibels put out by the exaust.
Yeah Honda had about a million different reasons for the dual exhaust until they finally stuck with yaw, roll, and certrilization crap. They don't know lol, they just know it looks cool and will sell a bajillion models. On a sound meter it actually reads lower but in real life it seems louder. Reason being is the way AMA checks sound is they measure peak HP on a specefic machine then whatever RPM the engine produced the most power they test it at exactly half the RPMS. Why? Another great mystery.
