I am willing to move within an hour of my office. I just want the best area to live in for them. any ideas?
My dad also works on alico road. I say you move to Naples, golden gate estates particulary. Golden gate has a lot of atv riders, motor heads, etc... Just on my street alone there is like 10 house filled with dirt bikes and quads. The schools arent to bad, just stay away from Lely highschool, Immokalle high school, and golden gate highshcool. Wink

I have to say this is the best place to live. You just have to find places to ride. Stay on this board and you will learn where to go.

Welcome to Florida. How bout we trade houses 6 months out of the year so I can get a chance to ride some killer dunes.   Wink Florida is flat that's for sure.  If I were you I'd move somewhere in North FL. Nothing against any peeps down south but it seems to be more places to ride up there. Especially with all those 2 strokers.  Wink But I will say we have the best beaches in the country. -Mark

I appreciate all of your input.

Here are some other interesting facts about Phoenix. I have to drive 1 to 1 1/2 hours just to get to riding areas that are overcrowded with a bunch of careless a-holes who trash the area, are loud, obnoxious, and rude towards others. You also have these riding choices.. Desert, and then Desert, and then oh yea Desert. Also our comfort zone riding season only lasts from November to the end of March. Other than that it is way too hot to ride for more than a hour without overheating yourself or your machine. I am not real fond of the desert after spending 6 hours in the emergency room to pull the cactus out of my 14yo sons butt, side, arms and back. My wife had a rollover spill and got punctured nicely on her leg. It is really like running the gauntlet when riding here.

Glamis is another story, it is my mecca. I'll be there for 5 days next week. We call it Mother G for a reason. Glamis is the most incredible riding on the plant. It usually only takes one trip to get hooked. My screenname says it all.

Here are the ingredients for Glamis.   Banshee+Sand Dunes+ JagerBombers+some place to sleep+some food once in a while.

I will miss them, but will only be in florida for 2years. I am moving to Texas after that. There is Little Sahara in Ok that will quench my thirst.

Scott

I know exactly how you feel about the desert.  I am a native of bordering New Mexico, and you can have the dust and tumbleweeds.  I had my wife out there, and she says everything there is brown and dead, even the houses are dirt brown.  Barf!

I have lived in the cold too.  In the middle of an Indiana winter, you have to go scrape off your cars every morning and shovel out of the snow.  Then the pipes freeze up in the house and spew water everywhere when they thaw out.  In 1979, we were stuck inside for a whole week due to 4 feet of snow.  Then in summer, it's hotter and just as humid as Florida.  You can have all that.

I love living here in Florida, where else can you be outside all year round and be within a few minutes of the Beach, or go to the big city, or go camping, have a boat all year round, whatever you want to do.  No state income tax here either.

For those of you who hate it here, no one is keeping you here, but for me I'm staying, and there are places to ride, you just gotta go find them, that's part of the adventure.

Welcome to our site, let us know when you get here and we can have a group ride to show you our beautiful state.  And this is the best ATV site in the state too! Thumbs Up

Thanks all,

I'll be on the board lurking, checking things out.

I am still not sure if I am going to bring my bike out with me, or wait until my family come as I have no where to store it for right now..

If Florida sucks then why are all of you people still here. You can move just like everyone else. I would not live anywhere but here. Get off of it or get out of it.

My dad hasn't retired yet. Once that happens, here we come North Carolina! It sucks trying to find places to ride. Sad We'll be going up in a couple of months for a bit of riding and we might look for some land. And Old_School, what you talking about?! It gets to 50 on the coldest nights and 70 during the day!

Why does Florida Suck?

I am going back to work as a Project Manager for a large contractor.

I don't understand what all the hub-bub is about?

Trust Me when I say Phoenix Sucks A$$. The only plus for me, is I am 4 1/2 hours from Glamis. It gets so hot here, you cannot even touch your steering wheel. I guess it is all realitive to where you have been. I am sick of the desert, and need some green, and grass in my life.

I know what you mean, florida is what you make it. It will get real hot and humid here, there is alot of politics here and of course snow birds also. heck you found one good place that was us here so it cant be all that bad. welcome to the site

one bright spot for riding and living in florida is that we have trees and water holes to play in . So come on down and ride in the shade for awhile and decide for yourself .
