Here's a link to a little slide show thing.
 http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=12&uid=4372594&gid=9235980

I rode just on Saturday, and spent Sunday and Monday kinda walking around the strip and looking around.  I thought it was preety nice.  I'll tell ya, there's more riding if you live in Las Vegas than there is where I live.  And nice wide open desert trails, like I like.  We flew into Pheonix, and I could see so many trails on the ground.  And lot of undeveloped land had trails in it, and the out skirts looked like people ride wherever whenever.  So I had a nice time over all.

Looks great out there.

This summer I plan on taking my son out west to OK and ARK to ride with family. My cousin said they ride all over the place, trails all over. They pull an inner tube behind a quad when it snows, said it's better than on water, snow is softer to land on. I can't wait until the time comes. Already got AAA with the trailer towing added, now just wait until the boy gets out of school. I will have plenty of pics and will post from there when I can.

Yeah there were a couple Banshees out there.  I obviously didn't race them or anything.  That Eiger really doesn't belong out in the desert, but it was a free rental, so what can I say.  Not to mention that they were brand new, we broke one in, and broke the other! Cheesy
But yeah man, out there it's like there's cities planted in the middle of nowhere, and it's not too far to drive to endless miles of desert riding.
The particular spot was about 20 minutes from downtown casino land I'm telling ya, and as you can see, you could spend days just exploring.  The hillclimbs I'm not to crazy about, I like going fast through long winding whooped out trails.  But I had a great time nontheless.

Grin Brings back memories.  Those are my old stompin grounds.  Grew up riding the very same area.  If I am not mistaken that is towards Nellis.  I will post some pics of the same area 20 years ago during one of the hill climb comps back in the day.

I do miss the high speed open desert type of riding.  You can ride until you out of gas and never see the same trail twice.  Glad you enjoyed.

We were right by a military base that was right by a small mountain, I'm not sure if it is Nellis, but I have heard of the place.  We actually ran into some of the real HUMVEEs out on one of the trails, kinda intimidating.  I'd give anything to go back out there on a Banshee, XR650, or a CR500.  That Eiger didn't do the place justice.  Also, we had perfect blue skies and the temperature was about 65 degrees, so the weather was absolutely perfect.  I've heard that in the summer it can get to like 110, that's gotta be tough on the body and the bike riding in that kinda heat!

Cool pics.  Looks like an awesome place to ride.  Was this one of those tours where you rent the bikes and they take you out and let you ride?  Or did you all go out on your own.  I go to Vegas at least once a year.  I wanted to go on one of those tours, but can't seem to get the wife to go too

Well kinda, our friend owns one of these rental companys.  If you rent the buggies, you gotta go on the tour.  I think with the quads, he lets you go off on your own.  We went off on our own with the quads, he knows that we know how to ride and everything.  I think the buggy tours are about an hour and a half long.  The quads I think you rent by the day.  You show up to the office, and he's got a shuttle that takes you out to the little setup he has out there, so it's preety simple really.

People say "but its a dry heat", I say go stick your head in the oven were its "dry" and tell me if it still burns. LOL  Glad you enjoyed.

Yeah two summers ago I went out there riding every day for a week. We went different places like Apex and a dry lake bed. So many different places its crazy. Basically if you see something cool you go ride it thats that. I rode in 110 with full gear on. We had a RM250 RM125 and a polaris 500 when I was out there. And on alot of the trails whoever was on the 500 just held it wide open the whole time and they wouldn't be out of site when the other guys stopped lol. Definatly the best off roading time I've had. Plus one day we went out riding near a gold mine my uncle goes to alot (he's into that) and we went down with a metal detector and shovel and I found a little chunk of gold! lol it was crazy. Then also we saw some little alien drawings. I know what you mean about the hillclimbs too. Living in FL I've never seen people ride up so incredibly steep/tall hills.

Some of those climbs were preety steep, I didn't want to try any of the tuff ones.  Hill climbing is like the only purpose a 4X4 could serve out there.  I thought Croom had some tough hill climbs, but I'd say these are much longer, and maybe a little steeper.  But like I said, I'd rather do the high speed riding through sand and whoops, like desert races go.
