Where ever and however you do your cooler it shouldn't matter as long as it keeps your beverage of choice cold.....sorry had to go there.  Good luck w/ the engine work.

Exactly QT, they want little pretty aluminum coolers. Make mine large and insulated plastic full of brown bottles and ice Drink
