Is anyone Familiar with the Superchips Programmers, Are they worth the money? are the power gains that noticeable? and any pros or cons of it, By the way it would be for a 05 Ram with the Hemi. Also will it void the warranty. Thanks for any thought or input

Actually, it will. Make sure you keep your stock chip. I know with any type of electrical work done/ moddifying more than it was intended, they will void the warranty. If you really want to know what you can and cannot do, call dodge, dont give them your name, but ask what mods can be done. The norm would be intake, underdrive pulleys and exhaust. As soon as you say chip, they will say, stop. Just like a quad, they will void it if you have a new rev limiter on it.
But, power gains, they are great, but not as great coming from somthing FI (forced induction). That is were you would see the most gains.

he said the programmer,,,not a chip.
the programmers will not void the warranty,,,but if you are nervous give them a call,,,,the business is located in Longwood and are usually very friendly people(I have a cousin by marraige that works there).
I have a programmer for my 5.4L F-150 and have noticed a big difference in the way the truck responds and I will never tow a trailer in the stock programming again.
I notice that the "Performance" setting was a bit rough on the trans. but all the options let you put it however you want.
You can change the shift point, the shift pressure, rear-end gear size, speed limiter, tire size(for the speedo).
I love it and have used mine for about two years,,,,just be sure that if you ever take your truck to the dealer for service that you put the programming back to stock before you take it in because dealers are notorious for resetting the computer and you will have issues with the programmer once you get the truck back.

The gains on gas trucks are small. The gains on diesel trucks are huge. As far as warranty, put it back to stock and dont tell them about it when you take it in.

Big diesels can go fast than you think. I have a friend with an F-250 that can run mid 12's in the 1/4 mile.

Well I got the 3815 Programmer for the 05 Hemi and all I can say is that you can definately tell the difference. I tried the performance mode and it is night and day compared to stock, And the good thing is the truck still shifts nice and smooth. Thanks for all the advice on setting it back to stock program if and when I take it to the dealer.

You can say that but the truth is the 6.0 is a dog without any mods-and then even with mods isn't that much better.
The duramax will be leaving a cloud of smoke for the pwr stroke 6.0 to drive thru.

You can get about 62 lbs of boost out of the 6.0. The Izusu in the duramax can not be tweeked that much. (yet).
P.S. The head bolts on the 6.0 start to pull out at about 60lbs of boost.

2006yfz450,
I have both that are maxed out on power, and I can tell you that my chevy will romp my ford even without the N.O.S. bottle hooked up in the DURAMAX!!!!
Mars,
I dont think you will ever get 62LBS of boost from any of these motors we are talking about,, I have melted turbos in the dodge I had and my DURAMAX and that was not even close to 62LBS of boost... your turbo would have to be spinning up around 300,000 RPM and there is no way that you could keep your temps. down with that kind of boost... they have less head bolts in the 6.0 ford and you will blow the gaskets out all the time, been there done that too!!!
apkkfx, you are right about the cloud

You are correct. 6.0s blow head gaskets all the time. The 60+lbs of boost happens under an ECM/PCM problem not under "tuning". At least thats the story the boys at Ford tell me. (ingineeeers)
I was not aware the DM was being tweeked so high.
PS Sorry about the post high jack.
