My wife just bought me a snorkel kit.

I have no experience with them, I am just weighing up whether the benefits of the snorkel outweigh the negatives (a big hole in the plastics of my beautiful 05 rincon & having an ugly piece of pvc tube sticking out of my quad).

Any ideas?

Its worth it if you go in water over your stock intake location. If you dont, then I wouldn't do it, you will probably lose a little bit of performance with a snorkel.

If you don't go deep, don't do it. Trade it for something performance related. Filter, exhaust, maybe a winch.

Paul, I think you should go with the winch too. that would save you from unwinding that yellow strap everytime you get stuck in my ruts. LOL

I put one on my foreman because I go in water over the fenders, and that's the level of the factory intake. Also with the kit I used, all the vents plug into the snorkle, it will really go under now. Got some improvement in performance also, the snorkle is larger in diameter, so a slight adjustment in the carb and she runs better than without it. The write ups stated an improvement, but I had to see, and it did. I don't worry about the hole in the plastic because the snorkle will stay on the quad.

It's all in what you want and where you want to go.

Thanks a lot Larry LOL, although you are probably right, I do need to retire the strap, I probably do need a winch or a set of Vampires to follow your beast.

When we going to hook up again? must be wet there now.

Paul,  my place is a freakin swamp now. I am afraid to cross that creek now. it rose about 3' since you were out there. The trails I had are now deep mud or covered in water. Come check it out. You may need that snorkel afterall. I am off work till 2nd week of January. lets go.
Kurt, you should come too. You dont know what your missin. its not your average loop trail through the back yard.
