I've seen this small shop on Missouri Ave. In Clearwater and wondering if it's a good shop.  I like to send my Raptor their for my 20HR service but want to know if it's a good shop or not.  I called Cycle Springs for the cost of a 20HR service and they wanted $250.  So I called "World of Power Sports" and asked how much was the 20HR service and said $100.  Why is cycle springs so expensive?

Why is cycle springs so expensive?

because thats how much they charge. they gotta stay in business somehow. Just remember if you are saving $150 on something so cheap to begin with anyway there is most likely a reason, such as cheaper oil, crappy mechanics, don't service the diff fluid or other fluids, etc.

Well your right but I had my warrior for over a year and never serviced it or changed the oil and never had a problem.  But paying more isn't always geting the better stuff..

do it your self..
its not hard. all they do is change the oil filter. and oil. trans oil.
and check the radiator fluid..
i mean for 50 buck u bring me the bike and ill do a perfect check of it.. Wink
then take it for a very long and exstinsive test ride...


o yea and they check your blinker fluid.. lmao

OVERHEAD!!! I had a Mercury 225HP Optimax engine on my last boat & the dealer wanted $350 for an hour worth of work & $20-$30 worth of parts. If you are gonna own a quad, you should man up & do it yourself, if you feel you may not have the experience, go on ebay & buy a repair manual. Dealers make 70% of their profits on labor...I know for a fact. BTW, taking it to a big time dealer isnt always the best way, my best friend took a new  z400 to Barneys in Brandon, where he bought it, for a 20hr service which was $250. When he took it home it wouldnt start at all, kinda funny because it ran like new when he took it in. He called me & we started looking it over, the plug in it was fouled & his air filter was still uncleane dor replaced. The plug in it when he took it in was fine, other than about 20-25 hrs of ride time. The service guy was embarrassed & took care of it but had no explanation. Just think, if the used plug their "not-so-crappy" mechanic put in it would have fired, he would have never checked it over & would have been ripped off big time. The guys who do the "20hr" services arent certified mechanics, they are shop scrubs who are just starting out, usually no real shop experience, just shadetree mechanics. The "real" mechanics are doing things like diagnosing the computers, valve jobs, cams, pistons...etc. I did a full service on my kfx400 in 40 minutes, only required a few common hand tools & some confidence. Your owners manual will tell you how to service your bike, you really dont need a repair manual. I for one will never pay a dealer to fix my toys. Especially Barneys in Brandon or Plant City Motors in Plant City.
