Today I rode the Yucapen alone. It is mostly under water right now. I was on a trail with my Eiger 400 4x4, I was in 4 wheel drive at the left side of the trail. The water got deep all of the sudden, and the 4 wheeler rolled onto it's right side at about a 45 degree angle. If I tried to to forward the tires would spin and I sank further, going backward the same thing happened. There were some trees directly to my left, thank god I had a winch. I was able to hook to the trees and winch it around to get the tires on dry ground. Without the winch I would have been screwed, way out in the woods alone. Has anyone ever got stuck by themselves with no way to get out and nobody around? I want to hear your stories.

I was 10 mile out from loop road in Big Cypress on a 3 wheeler. 1 hour before dark heading back to camp. when I got a flat on the front tire. for those who never had one. you cant steer it with a flat. I cut the tire on the side and stuff it with sawgrass to make it hard. drove back before it got dark.  Cool

I could have walked back, but there is no way I would leave my 4 wheeler out there.

Refer to the "pics of sunken atv's" thread And that is why Its not good to leave your vehicles somewhere. Good decision.

I had never ridden alone....the one time I DID go for just a *quick ride* while my hubby went to pick up my ridin buddy of course sumpthin has to happen

I was riding along just enjoyin the wind in my face and the splashin of the muddy water when out of nowhere this treee stump appears...I slam into it and I fly off my quad right onto my shoulder.....more like bounced I should say

I was about 3/4 of a mile into the woods and then a few blocks away from the guys house we were hanging at

So I try to get back on and ride home...it hurt SO much...and its my right shoulder and the gas is on the right side so that didn't work out too good. But first I had to turn it around...so here I am trying to lift this freakin thing to turn it around cause I couldn't drive it and I'm screamin like a lunitic from the pain. So I finally turn it around, start ridin reallllll slow cause I was leaning over pressing the gas with my left hand and trying not to fall off or pass out.

I wind up by passing the spot that led out of the woods....so I had to pull the darn thing back to the exit.....then push it up the hill cause I couldn't gas it up enough to make it over

So its been like an hour or so now since I crashed...I finally get onto the street....covered in mudd and blood..my arm is all cut up...face all streaked with dirt and tears,,,and I have a few blocks in the street til I get to Pauls. All these people are passing me in cars...ya THINK anyone stops??? You could tell I was hurt.

So I finally get to the corner...and I have to make a left...theres a van that needs to turn so I'm sitting and waiting for him to go so I could turn. His wife was driving and he says to her *go around her...she don't know what the hell shes doing* So his wife says to him...(guess it takes a woman to pick up CLUES), she goes, no...look at her...shes in pain. So they get out and ask if I need help....I was like uhhh yes please...I think my shoulders broken.

So her hubby rode my quad and she drove me to Pauls house where hubby was grilling...they see this strange guy riding up on my quad and they're all like wtf?  So then I get out of the van and my hubby takes a look at me and starts yelling at me cause he hates me riding and he knew that I'd get hurt. Anyways...moral of the story....don't ride alone

Last night at River Ranch, Me, Peanut and Thrasher went on a night ride. We took a trail that led us to the bombing range fence line but the section that we were in was 3-4 ft deep black muck (not muddy water but thick, black muck) by the time we realized it we were to far in it to turn around. Thrasher got stuck in 4 low so I started pushing him for a ways and then I started getting stuck, I backed up went around him and tried pulling him out, well needless to say I buried mine. Now we had to trec through thick muck late at night with alligators grunting in the vacinity to find a tree to hook my winch to. We finally get mine out and I was able to turn around and winch Thrasher out. A few hundred yards later I blew the outer bead on my 27 inch outlaw and had to limp back to camp about 8 miles with a front flat.
I know I wasn't alone but I was really nervous until we got out and then I thought it was a great time.

I was also stuck at RR
We were all at the playpen and it was gettin dark, so we started back for din-din. I was rear guard because of my big outlaws. As everybody left I fired up my bike and it pegged w.o.t. So I imeadiatly shut it down, but NOBODY stopped.

So there I was at the pen thinking no prob they'll be back for me camp is only 4 miles away. I drank my last beer and watched the sunset. Cool beans. The sun set. it was dark. the bugs were hideous. saw lightning in the background.

I thought if I have to leave my grizz all alone at the playpen and walk back somebody is going to die.

It took me almost 30 min to walk back to camp I had been missing for more than an hour. Just as I arrived a friend was starting to look for me. It was pouring rain and I was pissed.

It was almost worth it to see the look on my friends face as we went airborn in my deis daully with my 16' trailer in tow.

Luckily my bike was still in the bushes where I left it

aint been stuck in mud, but I was about 11 miles away from anywhere alone when I ran over a stump that did something to my engine to make it put out about one tenth of the power it normally had.

I limped home in 2-3 gear(having to downshift over the hills) on the clay roads in ONF till I got home,,,,got the quad home and was washing it to take it to ATP when I noticed the choke fully on.

needless to say, when ATP did the work on my quad,,,the choke came off.

You know how in the cop shows the helicopters are out with their thermal imaging and night vision tracking the suspect. You would see the purp hiding under things and still cannot escape. You would think that this technology can find a lost person without any problem.

Well in the real world you get stuck out in the woods this technology can be......well.......useless. 7 and half hours later I found my way back without my bike. Found the bike the next morning. Morale of the story "Don't forget to charge your cell phone"

yeah, it was after that experience that I started the "NEXTEL Rescue numbers" list, and I take my cell phone with me whenever I go riding.
