Hey folks I need some help, I want to buy a utility atv. A friend told me about a Yamaha Grizzly 2002. It seems to be in good shape. It has 1800 miles, and 252 hours. I want to know if this is normal for a bike of this year, and he is asking $4500 which I think is pretty high, since the nada values go from 3100-4100. Also if anyone knows about this Grizzly and want to comment in their reliability, performance, etc..

Thanks!!

Mine is a 2002 I have a little over 2000 miles on mine, I guess it depends how much a person likes to ride.  You can find one with little miles all beat to hell or one with a moderate amount of miles which has been taken care of.   Dunno

Mr Prairie Master, does your's with over 2000 miles gives you any mechanical trouble? do you drive hard on it or take care of it? I need an idea, because 2000 miles does not seem as much, but I don't know how many miles these things work well until they start giving trouble!!

It depends sometimes I drive it hard other times I don't, but I do regular oil changes and inspect key items before I take it out. The stuff that will kill it the most is mud so if you do go out play in mud wash it good when you get home. I've had no problems with mine except I replaced the drive belt normal wear and tear/brakes and the change of fluids. When I go out for the weekend we try to put at least 100 miles on them anymore and our butts start to get sore. Goodluck  Grin  I try to take care of my stuff it all cost way to much to buy more

I just recently bought a 2000 Grizzly 600......with 1148 miles.
It is scratched up a bit, bumpers dented, tires were a bit worn. I am new
to ATV'ing and took my Grizz out to Ocala National Forest (Seed Orcahrd)
last weekend.
Took me all day to put 25 mile on the odometer! LOL
If you are buying an ATV, look at the overall condition.  You are taking youyr chances anyway.....but go with your "Gutt" feeling.  My Grizz turned out to be OK.   God luck with yours.
