How do i know if they tight or loose  and how do i tighten them.

The tie rod it self won't be loose. The tie rod ends will be. Check those they should'nt have any play. Jason

they do have a recall for your year rancher... id get them done just incase... thats up to you though

Check with Honda about the recall, only a certain number of bikes are getting called for the tie rods. Honda cuaght the problem after a few thousand units. If you have an electric shift and your having problems with the readout blinking, check about getting the angle sensor replaced, Honda did a quiet recall on those cause of a faulty manufacturer.
