Yeah thats what ive heard the .357sig kicks like a mule just like the 10mm. But if you feel good with your Taurus you cant go wrong. The .38 is still a very popular round for personal defense as well as law enforcement. Just choose the right ammo and you cant go wrong. What good does it do for you if the gun you carry is to powerfull for you. Your doing more bad that good cuz when the time comes you can't hit the target or god forbid someone else. All I can say is practicepracticepractice. I got to the range at least once every two weeks. Well I go to my jobs range and they give us all the ammo we want to shoot.

Remember why police went from there 9mm to 40 cal. The bullets bounce off windshields: :-/ and for your info the best self defense round is a 45 cal. ask anybody that as one, all about impact. Any time you want to go shoot at trail glade let me know, let you shoot the 50.ae... 3 foot flame in the daytime.

Got my 1911 45 compact. Great gun but you'd better be good at shooting it. With the recoil if your not use to it there is a tendancy to over compensate. I've shot a little competition and helped ppl learn to shoot. I have found that women do very well w/ 9mm. I do agree though if you practice you can shoot anything. Let's just say I've shot enough that you don't want to be on the receiving end of anything I'm dishing out.

Any time you want to go shoot at trail glade let me know, let you shoot the 50.ae... 3 foot flame in the daytime. I don't disagree with you . I like the power of the .45 ACP the 9mm is Ballistically a very fast round . I does pack a nice nice punch. I choose the .40 to kinda meet it in the middle. On Ballistic Jelly the .40 measured at about 1100 FPS with the federal tactical that i get from work and with the size of the actual round it measured up pretty well on fragmentation upon impact. Once the bullet hits the target is slows down rapidly due to its size tearing up everything in its path. Just like the .45acp. The .45 ACP did it at about 900 to 1000 FPS. You must admit the .45 ACP is a great round for self defense but the trigectary upon leaving the muzzle has a significate drop in comparison to the 9mm and the .40. You need to practice with any gun but if your good with a .45. your a dangerous MOFOE. I just carry the .38 for back-up and dressy porposes. By the way i'd love to shoot that .50 cal If you got a .40 I got about 1000 rds that we can go play with. Ive just never been to trail glades i hear you gotta take a class before you shoot there.

A friend shot IPSC (I think that's the acronym) it's been many years since I shot. Did a few competitions w/ him. Also did a few Western competitions. You have to use open hammer guns that are time appropriate. Those are the most fun.

The western shoots were the most fun. They usually had a ho down afterwards. It was fun to see alot of the western 'get ups' that ppl threw together. They also had other props beyond the horses that you shoot from and there's alot of action in the event. If I had the right guns for those I'd love to do them again, but since I was borrowing my friends I'd say that the odds aren't good.

We have thought about joining SASS - Single Action Shooting Society.... http://www.sassnet.com/index.phpThe Okeechobee Marshals are close by us they are a CAS Club - Cowboy Action Shooting Club. They have little western towns set up at thundercross. Some day in my spare time might check it out.

I've had a permit for over 10 years now. The #1 rule I was told by a policeman, is never pull your weapon out unless you intend to shoot it.

Judgement is the best ticket... Has anyone here ever been involved in a shooting and took part in that taking of another human beings life ? I hope your ready for the emotional consiquenses !!! Remember property can be replaced but a life cant. Once that bullet leaves the barrell there is no coming back.
Keep that in the back of you head and duell on it for a while.
And don't forget when you shoot someone might shoot back ...
Im just as a personall protection enthusiest as anyone else. But decisions can come with consiquences...

I think about that My 38 will kill with 1 bullet or knock them down so I can get a second shot, on the other hand my 22 mag may not kill them but it will distract them so I could run... or I could beat them to death with the gun [smiley=laugh.gif] You do what you gotta do [smiley=YingYang.gif] It's a big gun [attachment deleted by admin]
