We have been watching the news for this tragedy going on and would like to help.

Is their anybody in Lousiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi or any of the outlying areas  that is involved with the search and rescue effort that we can assist with donations?

We are going to start a donations fund so we can purchase things like blankets, flashlights, water, what ever is needed to help these folks out. All of which can be purchased at our local stores and shipped out?

I will be going down today and purchasing goods to ship to the area?

Need a POC who can help our efforts?

Please either email, call us so we can get the ball rolling

Awesome efforts. The thing I have been hearing most on the news and radio is to donate money to the Red Cross. They are saying that donations of blankets/food/etc are good... but that monetary donations are needed most... just a thought Wink

Good luck  Grin

thats a good point.

We really want to help any way we can I was just thinking their must be areas that the redcross cannot get to that the locals can.

I'll donate.  I like sanddragon's idea better thought.  As much as I like the red cross, like most charities, I suspect 85% of their budget goes to administrative costs, and 15% actually goes to the charity (maybe someone can confirm).  I would rather all my money goes to someone that needs it, not to pay some desk jockey's salary.

I agree... I would much rather send goods that I've bought instead of money.. that way I know exactly where my money went.

If you can find a way to get those goods to people that need it, then I full agree that that is the way to go. There's just so much distruction, it's hard to know what's the best way to go about it... but anything is better than nothing Smiley

I'll help in any way I can...I can make calls to find a local charity up there, I feel strongly enough that I would even consider taking a few days off work and driving there with the supplies myself.  Just let me know what I can do.
