Much appreciated, now 5A is lost to all of us. Enjoy it while you still can. As a local I appreciate all the trash you've left out there over the years, harassment of wildlife and destroying a riding area in general. Prepare for fences and increased law enforcement handing out trespassing citations....all coming soon to 5A!

Last Saturday I saw several people throwing trash down all over the place. These people are pigs.  You're right! This time we are really going to loose this place to ride.

I read the article, but I just don't believe that they will be able to develop that area anytime soon.

I'm going to continue to ride till they put up the "tow away" signs, then I guess it will be just the Ocala Nat Forrest for me and June. I go there now almost every week, but sometimes you want mud and water and they don't have that there. Larry

Development isn't expected to start until 2017. However, talking with BCSO, expect them sooner than any signs or fences. Signs do not have to be in place for you to be trespassing. If you can't prove your a landowner, your trespassing. The County commission wants this land developed and will cooperate with the Miami Corp getting the "liability" off of the property. Volusia county is also on board with supporting the Miami Corp as well.

Wish all you riders out on the East Coast the best of luck but this sounds like a repeat of Rancho Banito on the West Coast.    http://www.theledger.com/article/20140417/NEWS/140419308

I've come to the realization that I'm happy about this. I have been riding out there since I was 12 years old, I'm now 47. When it was locals only, before the internet it was a great place to ride. We kept it clean and respected the hunters, so we didn't ride there during hunting season. 5A has gotten to a point I won't ride out there anymore because of the trash that's out there and I don't just mean garbage left out there. Far too many drunks and idiots flying around corners without looking. The last time I was out there was a weekday a year ago, I was appalled at how it looked. So, even though I also lose a place to ride I do look forward to everyone else leaving as well and the eyesore being developed and cleaned up. With any luck some of you will contribute to Brevard County by paying trespassing fines.

I don't think that you are happy about this !  Doesn't sound like it !  Just my opinion !  Larry

I did notice that there are two "no trespassing" signs posted really high up on two telephone poles over by the fenced in part that the highway dept uses. I think they are just for that area as there are more signs on the fence itself. I go out there all the time and just now noticed them.

If they post signs for the ATVs, I would hope that they are where you can easily see them.

Um...yeah you are trespassing.

The signage is merely a formality. Posted or not, if you unlawfully enter another's property (ie.- without permission), you are trespassing. You can be warned (signs or not) and then arrested subsequently. If you cause damage to the property while trespassing, you can be arrested for a myriad of items, including damage to property. It matters not if you're warned or if the property is posted.
