who's planning on racing  ?
weather and track should be great this weekend !
hopefully a few pro's will show up again !!

for the racers interested in starting up a TT series ,we need to get together and finalize a plan and get with Bill and set a schedule SOON  !!

there is no better time or place to meet up than at a race, even if your not planning on racing, it helps show support to the track that supports us !!!

those racers that have been thinking about starting back up, dust it off and tune it up ,the weather is as good as is gets ,and there is no better time than NOW !!

to those that are new to the sport come on out, we have a great group of people and have a lot fun !

NOT us! we dont wanna race on slick/muddy tracks. Its no fun at all and it defeats the purpose of having a high powered machine. PLUS the Open class entry fee is more than the novice class and we cant even get a trophy?!?! Racing my $15K flattrack bike in the mud for nothing?
NO thanks....... You guys have at it.  Bonk

Were taking a break for a while. Cool We fell we were not treated right this year. This sport is for fun and when its not fun, there is no reason to do it. Thats where we are right now. To be honest i thought that since we had raced like 20 races in a row the SDTA would notice that we quit coming and at least email one of us and find out whats up. That didnt happen so i assume were not missed at all........

we are racing this weekend but with the amount showing up and paying over $250 dollars a race night and not getting anything back out of it we are thinking about selling the quads and racing mini sprints

I hear ya about the costs , but your in the wrong kind of sport if you planning on making money at it , ALL motorsports at this level are money pits ,you do it for the love of competition and thrills, or don't bother  !
plus you don't run in the payout class   Smiley
I think there should be some trophies given out if the class size is big enough, like there was before !

if i had the motor and skill for the open class i would race it lol....i love the sport and the competition and i know any type of motorsport is a money pit but the way the quads are treated and ant the low turn outs because of that makes it not as fun as it use to be

NO  , your group will be missed ,skilled and dedicated riders are what our sport needs !
but I understand the frustration ,TOO much has changed and it needs to be addressed.
consistency and fairness needs to be brought back into balance.
if you guys are part of the SDTA and there is a certain amount of riders in beginner  or intermediate class ,then trophies should be given out based on class sizes .
those that race in the open class should pay the same as the other classes if the class size isn't big enough to have a  payout !
as far as racing on a muddy track ,If the quad riders don't mind running the track in ,that is one thing ,as long as it's not a complete mud bath, our machines aren't any less important or costly !
BUT  we shouldn't have to run our races in the slop because the other machines need a looser surface to race on safely ,the beginner  quad classes could be moved into the middle, and the open could be ran as one of the last classes to run , then ALL classes would benefit.
It also would be nice to have some more laps back in the  practice ,heats and mains !!!
these are things that need to be discussed as a group with all concerned
I think these are simple problems with easy solutions .

we dont need a (quads only) meeting, this concerns all racers and everyone should discuss things as a group .

To me, its always felt like we were just a side show & track sweepers to the MC guys. Back in 1998 when we raced with bikes it wasent like that. Chris, ATV's cost a good bit more to race than Mc's do. I dont think anyone has a $15K dirtbike, i got the recipts to show mine. Grin

"BUT, we shouldn't have to run our races in the slop because the other machines need a looser surface to race on safely"

^^ I think that sums it up about right. I personally watched the fast MC class get off the track because it was soo muddy but yet the quads cant do that. Were expected to sweep the track until its good enough for them to run on. Like i said, SIDE SHOW!

Its a shame and i hate to see everyone quit racing because of it. Also people going through rough times these days and normally you would have a few that didnt care if they were broke, they would find a way to race because they love it(ME). But when it got to where no one was coming for various reasons it got LAME. I can stay at home and get that!

Im going to just let the cat outta the bag here......

The last straw for us was the first race in Jasper. I was told that we were racing for money and WERE getting a payout by an SDTA staff member (signup guy, RAY i think). We raced on the muddiest track i have ever seen. Everyone slid of the track in the first turn. BUT we kept going and i won. I had NO fun racing that race at all.!! Then the MC's got out there and decided it was too muddy and they would wait until it dried, so they did. THEN when i went to get my money, Shawn told me i wasent getting anything. I told him what Ray? had said, he still said no. So in my book that was 2 slaps in the face. THATS why we havent been back. PURE principal !!

On another note, the racing was great at OMS all night.
the track was prepped pretty decent throughout the event ,a little loose for our liking, but not a soupy mess either  !!
had to knock the dust off the Yamaha , and Jon had to remember how to turn Left again ,I think we were going backwards with the setup in practice !!
It was nice to get a chance to meet the new riders in out group !

Jonny Vance was riding out with his new suspension setup, now that he has some traction he can do some damage in open !!

what happened to Jeff in the main he never came out  ?

Tyler did you get the needle jet issue resolved yet ?
