I have a 2002 Vinson 500 auto. I don't use it much, mostly just for plowing in the winter. I am having problems with it and was wondering if I could get some help from you pros. It's hard to start. When it does run there is a hose that comes from the top of the carb and ends up under the seat that gas runs out of when its running. It will not idle without the throttle. If I shut it off, or stalls, the gas keeps coming out of the hose. I have to shut the gas off at the tank to get it to stop. There is also gas in the air filter box. Any ideas?

Take the carb off and clean it... Sounds like its all gunked up from lack of use. Drain your tank while you're at it and put fresh gas in it.

OK I took the carb all apart and cleaned every nook and cranny. Well I took the  diaphragm cover and took the spring and jet needle and the other thing that looks like a crown, not sure what its called, out and shot carb cleaner all through it. I took all the other covers off and did the same. I put it all back together and put it in the bake and there is still gas pouring out of the hose that comes out under the seat and gas running into the filter. What the heck is wrong?

Take the bowl off, its the little needle that clips to the tang on the floats, has a little rubber tip on it. Make sure your floats are moving free and not pinched in there.

hey emtmike,if he bike  sits for long time periods you need to make sure you put ethanol tx in the tank. The  ethanol kills the carbs when they sit.
If you can't get this thing fixed send the Toy Doc a note.he is a sharp guy.     BTW were are you a EMT at?
