I am looking for a new sport based 4 wheeler and am having trouble making a decision based on specs.  I am 6'0ft, 180 pounds, and 23 years old. I was raised in KY and riding was a big part of most peoples spare time so I am pretty experienced but, most of my time was spent on a honda fourtrax and a yamaha grizzly and i would like to move more towards something like a honda ex, also I havn't owned a 4 wheeler for several years and kind of fell out of the scene.  So I guess I'm asking for suggestions and/or advice on what to buy and how to get back into the swing of things.

all suggestions/advice welcome
thank you

well if your looking for an all out sport to hit the trails or the track at a fast pace, you'll wanna go with one of the 450r's (honda or yamaha, but thats just me) But if you want something fast that you can take in the mud everyonce in a while or use around the house (well, i was pulling trees out with my 450r 2 weeks ago) then i would go with the kawi brute force, suzuki king quad, or the can-am renegade!

Brand new 450 sport quad, I would go with the yamaha. I loooove honda but that new yfz is prettttty sick. If i were going 4x4 i'd probably get the brute or renegade. Hope this helps. If you can be more specific, i'm sure everyone else and myself can give you a little better advice on what to buy.

450 is what you are looking for. if you are going for 4x4 go with the renagade.

Renegade X, now that you're all grown up! Unless, your primary riding will be MX.

I'd second Honda or Yamaha 450. Raptor 700 is nice too and a little more trail oriented.

I agree with him and im actually not selling one.  Cheesy   Na though, they are not hard to find, and you can get one, get back in the feel of things. Then when you get comfortable there is literally thousands of things you can do aftermarket wise to buff them up to run with any 450. Id rather spend 2,000 on a solid used bike then spend some more to mod it instead of just dropping like 7000 on a brand new stock quad. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the help I actually had been looking at the kfx 400 and it seems to be more like what I'm leaning toward. I also agree that it would be best to buy a nice used one and build it up instead of paying for a new one and eventually making the same mods anyway.

Ya I rode a 400 and kept up with my riding buddies real well, but I'm a lot faster on that 450! If your going sport, go big so you don't have to upgrade later!
