CLUTCH?

so i had my truck out today and the tires stopped spinning in some mud but the engine would still rev so while i was waiting to be pulled out the truck died well now when i try to start it it sounds like the starter is just spinning so my buddy pull started me popped the clutch while rolling and it started up but even when its in gear i can let the clutch out its sticking a little but it like its in neutral my friend said my clutch is probably screwed so i had to leave it in the woods but im just wondering when i go back tomorrow to get it if its probably the clutch its an 88 ranger 2.9 V6 with a 5 spd

AND WHILE ITS RUNNING YOU CAN RUN THRU THE GEARS WITH NO GRINDING OR ANYTHING IM LOST IT SOUNDS LIKE A CLUTCH TO ME BUT IDK
