What kind are they? You would have to know that because some are worthless and some are worth big money.

I just cut down 6 large palms next to my house. They were those tall skinny things that look like a Ethiopian but 60 feet tall.

I just googled the Queen Palm. They are pretty common but look real nice when taken care of. The article said they are prone to blowing down in heavy winds because of the small root ball and large canapy.

Call a tree farm and see if they want to buy them.

Queens or Syagrus Romanzoffiana are a "cheap" grade builders palm, usually bought at $4-6 per foot when there is wood showing on tree. Less expensive in container form. Usually there is no value since a tree co after supplying equipment & labor to remove palms would exceed (even if they were FREE) what it would cost to buy new ones. Not factoring in liability for damages for removing as well Wink pipes cables etc..

If they are not that tall you can DIG the root ball yourself, about 18" from the trunk. Angle cut toward the center all the way around the tree and it will be easy to tip over & put on a dolly to move, replant, discard. This way you can replant in the same holes with a smaller plant (as long as the root ball fits) Be careful if you cut it to the ground it may fungus and will spoil the soil (tiny mushrooms will appear around dying stump)killing whatever palms you may wish to replant for up to 7 years. It does not effect other foliage.

There big & messy @ that size, with the seeds and the fronds need cutting frequently. Not self cleaning in my opinion is why they are less desirable due to the constant maintenance. They do have a nice look if kept up.

At that size there will be a huge rootball. Also will need a larger skid steer to move.I have had my guys dig them by hand not easy can be done .The DYNADIGGER would only take 15-20 minutes to have them ready for removal.Try running some free ad's take pics & if you don't want them try the FREE come & get them approach. You never know what folks will buy & pay money for. If not theres always the chain saw.

I personally love Queen Palms, honestly, they are like my favorite Palm Tree.  I like the texture, and the size of their leaves, I just think they look awesome....  But then again, this ole girl likes Florida Slash Pine too.... Wink

I hate Traveler Palms, although hubby loves them...  Hey Bushwacker, I have a question???  We have two in our front yard, Traveler Palms, one is great, you keep it trimmed and always looks good...  The other one, always has the alien-ugly looking babies growing out of it...  Is one male and other female... If so which is which.  I would love to atleast get rid of the one w/the ugly looking things growing out of it, and replace it w/one that doesnt...  Problem w/that too, is getting the height...  Would love to know anything can be done to stop the alien-babies growing...

Well here, this is what I am talking about....  See the one on the Right, nice.....  Grin  The one on the Left, alien baby... Evil..  I constantly keep up w/them, but every time trim/cut the baby out, another one or two sprouts....   Evil  Anything can be done....

(didnt mean to high-jack thread... sorry) just curious....
