How often ya think Belt's need to be replaced?

Kawi360 4x4 2005
My Kawi is need of another belt, and this will be the 3rd belt. I personally think that is a little too soon. Going to get another Belt, and this time order it myself, to make sure getting a good quality belt. I just think it's going a little to fast... Yea, it has seen some water, but not as much since we put the radio on the front. Radio still works, so one would think it ain't that bad....
Going to have my husband go thru the housing and check the pulley and all. Appreciate any other suggestions. Also dang thing broke the back bushing, and no, I don't ride it that dang hard. (But I did go thru one hell of trail on Memorial Day, but didn't abuse it or ride it hard). Going to fix that too.
Any suggestion on good place to get parts, either locally or online?
Thanks...

The only machine I have with a belt in my Rhino. It has over 3000 miles on the original belt.

That's what I thought, and yea, if I had it do all over again, would of bought a Honda. My husband's Honda 400 (now my son's) has over 3000 miles on it, and it is a good running, dependable ride. Never had any issues w/it, at all! My prairie has had a few issues, and most concerning the Belt and Belt drive system. My son can go thru any water, just about, and never an issue. Mine does pretty good, then all of a sudden, just a little water and the belt gets wet.... go figure... Going to get an aftermarket belt, and see if that helps any...

Hey, Beck! My wife's 360 has about 1500 miles on the original belt and no signs of wear as of yet and she LOVES the water. It has only had one instance wear the belt housing filled with water and we just tipped it up and drained it out. Spent the rest of the day riding with no problems. Her's is a 2006.

Well, perhaps it's just mine then... About year ago it was in the shop for about 2 months, had a prob w/the engine break and belt housing. I really don't think that they ever really totally resolved that problem. Chuck (hubby) really good w/working on stuff, so he is going to take a look at this weekend. Rather him just friggin fix it once and for all, and get it over with. It has a fuel problem this weekend. Never took it in the water this weekend. Chuck said sounded like had something in either fuel (ie water) or carb. Got it back to camp by keep hitting the choke... I can't believe the freakin swing arm is broke on it too. He is going to fix that too.
Will know more this weekend. My last Kawi was a dang 1985 and still runs, gave it to a friend, and he just had to replace the clutch, now that's just crazy...

My wife's just started that, since you brought it up. I have been told to adjust the valves as that is most likely the problem. I have no idea how to do that. I was going to replace the spark plug, cause that's never been done. This bike has been virtually trouble free. As has my Suzuki Eiger other than the front bearings.

If we learn anything about that when we work on it this weekend, let you know. Don't think mine are the valves though, not make any valve clicking or anything. Does appear to be a fuel issue, the way it comes and goes. Spark plug would be bad idea either...
(PS - nice talkin to ya again, know I've been m.i.a. lately"

Using High gear in a low gear situation wears a belt out quick. And, if you are in gear and the engine is revving and the tires are not turning will burn a belt also.
