Hello fellow riders, its been a while since I posted anything on the site but I still continue to support our sport no matter what. Below is a link on todays Naples News paper about the OHV park that is / was promised to us. Be sure to scroll down past the article to view comments.

lswjthw a.k.a. Rick Varela is a member here and he continues to fight the SFWMD to the end. With or without us.  Thanks Rick

Cool! I'd support it as long as they got plenty of mud!

Hey Rick, it's Chino. It's been a long time since I've seen your name on here. Too bad you can't get more support. You guys put a lot of effort into our sport for everyone!!
Do you still see Dennis? How's he doing, or did he move somewhere? Tell him I said keep up the good work. He always post some good comments about SWFMD. Bastards...to hellz with all of them. Even environmentalist hate them!! What's wrong with this picture?

Chino, today was the first time in a long time that i heard from Dennis, I still lurk around here and the other atv sites, but i don't post much anymore. I've had some support from my fellow riders, but for the most part, nobody wants to do crap even though we keep getting areas closed instead of open. If we had half of the people here, writing letters and e-mails half as much as they post, we would be in a different situation. Thxs for all your support....

You should support it regardless.

I should support it reguardless? Did you support my riding spot (Holey Lands)? I didn't see you out there Sunday? Maybe you supported in other ways I don't know about...

Now I don't know you from Jack, but thats a pretty bold statement to say.

I'm over 1.5hrs away from Naples.  I'm not going to drive that far for 100 acres.  I'll go to L-Cross

If it's got some mud that looks like something I want to ride in...I'll spend money there.  If not, I'll go support L-Cross so they can make more money and open up more land for us to ride there.

I'm all for the cause, if you want me to write an email...I'll type a novel.  If you want me to sign a petition, I'll sign it.  But I'm not spending a dime somewhere *I* can't even ride.  Not going to happen.  If it's another motoplex, I'll be there every weekend with 20 bikes...loud and proud.

I'm not trying to come off as a prick, I don't know you.  But what you said I take pretty offensively, since I've been doing what *I* can, which isn't very much.  I've sent emails, talked to upper officials, pulled some strings with FWC (also pushed some of their buttons  Shocked ), etc.  I attended the ATV Ralley...which IMO didn't do much of anything, we still lost Everglades Francis S. Taylor, and where are the ATV parks? Motoplex...10hrs from me, this 100 acre marsh thing...2hrs.  I'll be sticking to L-Cross at this rate...25 bucks a weekend, I don't get bothered by rules and regulations, I get to ride how I want, and I sure as hell don't have to deal with FWC or some wanna be cop park ranger.  I don't need that, I have enough officers in my daily work.

Support is for everywhere by everyone. I went to protest in Naples and I don't ride there. I was sick of not being able to ride in Florida...period!! You have no idea how much Rick and Dennis do for anyone who rides.
The fight for riding area's isn't just for Naples, it's for everywhere.  It's just a small step in any direction, instead of none at all. Holeylands is not the only place that got shut down. We use to have so many riding area's around us, and now there all gone; N. Port, Ellenton, Sarasota, N. St. Pete., Brandon, Valrico, Spring Hill, just to name a few where I use to ride.
It was disappointing to see the lack of unity and participation at the protest, but these guys still show up and fight no matter where it is. We spend a lot of time fighting amongst ourselves instead of SWFMD. We're a forum of riders meant to band together and that's what we should be doing.

Damn someone needs to put a rag in it.
You were the one made the bold statement (I'd support it as long as they have plenty of mud). You should support any type of ATVing regardless and you don't have to be there to support it either.
Your the one that made a dumb statement, I was just pointing out you should support it because we all ride ATV's. I don't think anyone on this site found that insulting but you. Now get your head out of the mud.

Well, let it be bold.  I'm not supporting it unless I can ride there and have a good time.  I don't see a problem with that?

No one is coming to our local spots to support.  All we have is ignorant riders that don't even know what a flag or speed limit is.  And thats why we lost our spots.

The only reason I support that piece of crap park is because they promised it to us when they took away the greatest offroad area in Florida ever. The west coast has more than enough space to give us the pathetic little place to spin our wheels. I can't believe we are still waiting.

I thought it was suppose to be 640acres. They should have never surrendered Golden Gate South for that pittance. 20 million? What a freakin deal!
