A chance to ride on the streets with police escorts
I got confromation today that we are on for the Memorial Day Parade.
It will be held on 26 May 2008 and line up is in front of the Hollywood 20 on Main Street at about 0915 and the Parade starts at 1000. Following the parade we have also been invited to go back to the VFW on Tuttle Ave and have a pot-luck lunch and celebrate. Directions and parking will be posted below.
DIRECTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Off I-75 exit #210 Fruitville Road and head west towards Sarasota. Pass over Tuttle and come through 3 lights which the third will be US 301/Washington Blvd. As soon as you go over 301/Washington look to your left and turn in parking lot and park behind Parking Garage. You will be behind Hollywood 20 and unload tralier and come around to the front for Parade line-up on Main street. Parade will go down Main Street all the way to Marina Jacks. Line up is 0930 and parade starts at 1000, Then we ride back to our vehicles.
Following parade we head for VFW which you will get back and head east on Fruitville and take a right on Tuttle. After you take a right look right and you will see a Army tank and VFW sign. Turn right after the tank Belvoir St. and park to your left.
All families attending please bring some type of covered dish to contribute and it will be much appriecated. Any questions please call or PM myself. Pass this on to all friends, it is a great cause and fun too.
