That's terrible! I hate hearing stuff like that, especially so young.

I really hate hearing about these accidents and I really hate the smartass remarks made along with them too. It doesn't take a genius to know that you should wear safety gear on atv's or any recreational vehicle. The kids who this happens to should have been made to wear the gear. Somebody has lost a child so have some sympathy no matter if it was careless or not. Personally if my daughter gets on her bike to move it 5 feet she better have her helmet on or her butts in trouble. I'm a firm believer in chewing some ass when safety is ignored. What kids don't understand is we make them wear this stuff because we care.

they where 21 and 28 i dont think there parents had much say in the matter nor does anyone else i personally wear a helmet unless im just cruisen around the playpen or another huge mudhole
its a personal decision just like smoking etc you take the risk then whatever i dont go up to every person i see and tell em to quit smoking or drinking or speeding etc...      Lecture

Your absolutely right, people make stupid decsisions all the time. At the same timegoing up to someone not wearing a helmet and asking if they are stupid sometimes reminds them how easily you can be hurt or killed. It also does'nt do much for our sport in the public eye to be irresponsible by not wearing gear or making your kids wear gear. Five feet or five miles should'nt matter, dont be stupid wear your gear!

All I said was a helment would of helped and stackmaster said that was a smartass comment but we all know if your going to ride wear the gear.I feel bad for the ones that are left behind to suffer and the rest of us that have to suffer for something that could of been prevented. The only reason I posted this was to make other people aware of what was going on.And the heat was going to get worse if this kind of crap keeps happening. If thats makes me a smartazz than so be it i can handle it ,but i wear my gear. No way to know if a helmet would have helped or not. They were both adults and chose to ride without them. As long as the law allows adults to ride 200MPH + street bikes without a helmet on the mean streets, it is silly to hassle adults on quads about them IMO.

This certainly does not apply to minors though.
