Circuit city has pioneers for buy one get one free, was thinking I can get 2 12s for $70, worth it? Mainly worried havent heard much about pioneers, are they any good? I don't want killer bass, I may only put one in and keep the other for a spare or sell it. What would be a good but not to expensive sub? Also what amp? Thanks!

one of the best sounding systems I ever had was Buy 1 get 1 free Profile Baja subs with a profile amp. Some of the cheapest crap, but it sounded awesome. Alot of it has to do with the vehicle and box you build/buy.

I have a single Pioneer "Premiere" sub with a 300w amp . It sounds pretty darn good.
Bigscub is right on the box. I built a ported box once with two 8 inch hard cone Fosgates that rocked, in a hatchback. No one would believe they were eights unless I showed them.

there is the actual sub. Im thinking about getting them, for $70 bucks thats not bad. Thanks for the replys (more are welcome). My friend has JLs with a fosgate amp and it sounds real nice, but he has almost $1000 into his system. its going in a 99 f150 ext cab.

I say go for it. There is no way you will compete with the professionals, but building boxes, and doing installs is one of the funnest things to do with friends on the weekend. If you get really into the car audio scene, then you can upgrade to real nice stuff and do it all over.

The last system I had was 2 - 10" Vega's and a 2 vega amps, another cheap brand, but sounded awesome. I had an expensive setup in 1 vehicle(2 - 15" PowerBass subs with a 1000watt Crossfire amp.) It would take your breath away.

I might.... I figured pioneer is a name brand so it should be fine. I was trying to figure out a box setup with a friend earlier...
