Yeah I had a blast today guys. Was a total of 6 of us and not much down time. Don't know what happened to the guys that posted up at the beginning of the thread? Dreth, when were headed back to Big Scrub at the end of the day remember that group of quads ridin' in w/ us? One of those was my man on the Quadzilla at the beginning of this thread. I rode behind he and another guy back to the trucks. Guess we all got to ride together after all. It was great to ride w/ NovaDave and Jake. Dave PM me your Nextel.

Here's a thread to some damaged goods trying to follow Dreth...http://www.atvflorida.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=readersrides;action=display;num=1113179383

Today was my first day at Big Scrub, I saw you guys headed away from the camp towards the paved part of FR-573. My brother and I rode behind you on the road (we were behind the quadzilla on the 2 Vinson's) until we got to the trail we wanted. Was gonna catch up(once yall stopped, lol) to say hey and introduce our selves. Everyone I saw had nice bikes. I love that place and will be back there almost every weekend.

Damn Rob, I didn't know that what you behind me.  Smiley I looked back and said maybe this guy wanted to ride with us. I know I kept looking back at you and behind you to make sure there were no Park Rangers. Your bike is nice.  I saw Dreth  haulin arse over the whoops under the power line once we got close to the trucks/campground.

Next time we all head out we gotta introduce ourselves.

The group I was with went all the way down 588 almost to the end and rode in that pit till the ranger showed up. That pit was pretty nice. Then we went to the bombing range(round near it not in it) and then to the natural spring and swam a little (too cold). We rode alot. I guess I must of rode about 40 miles today.  -Mark

Thanks old school. I was sitting back there admiring your bike. You've definitely taken care of her. Yeah, I was watching for those Rangers as well. Seems like they were in full force yesterday. I think that it rediculous b/c we were lost and couldn't find our way back til we took a clay road and someone pointed us towards the lines. I guess that's the only way they can make their money out there.

We normally get there around 12ish and stay til the sun starts to go down. But I'd rather get there early, ride hard for a few, then head in w/ enough daylight to clean the bike and spend time w/ the family (Although that'll probably be laying around) Gotta get those other 2guys to get up earlier next time.

I always see alot of bikes parked near the front. Is that where the pit is? Seems like it's pretty crowded, which wouldn't be good for us at the speeds we ride. That's why we go so deep into the forrest. We only saw (3) other quads in there. Definitely can't wait til the next one.

No the pit was empty when we got there. It's exactly 5 miles from the campground. When we were there there was only 3 other bikes that came in until the ranger showed up.  I just realized that I used over 5 gallons of gas yesterday. My quad loves to drink gas.  [smiley=drink.gif]   -Mark

are you not allowed to ride in the pit? also, towards 588 there is a trail that you can take and it leads to another trail with some water, is it legal to ride in the little creek thing?

You can't ride any any numbered road (i.e. 588, 597, etc.) But you can ride on the side of the road. If there is no sign or pole blocking the entrance you can ride there. I don't believe you can ride in the pits but the main entrance is blocked but the back entrances are wide open with no obstruction or signs...so game on for me.  -Mark

So you can ride on the side of any clay road? (Along the edge of the forrest) Just as long as you're not on the clay road?

Right. But I wouldn't go wide open when your like 2 feet from the road. I'm sure if they saw that they would flag you down. But I've been putting along along the side(kinda like when you were behind me) right past a ranger and he didn't stop me.      -Mark

No you cannot. You are not allowed to ride on the side of any numbered road in ONF. Per the head of rangers in ONF you are not even allowed to take a right or left off of a trail to pick up another trail when you come to a numbered road. I was told that you cannot ride between the tree lines
