The season chart that you looked at is for private land.  I believe Ocala closes 2 weeks earlier.

General Gun season ends Jan. 9th for the North East and North Central regions. I kinda hate to see this season end but I have a freezer full of meat so it will be nice to ride safely in Ocala again.  Grin

We rode this week around Salt Springs.  Didn't even go to Rodman and had one pretty scarry run in with a hunter in a Dodge Intrepid after only about 15 minutes.  He was cussing us to the top of his lungs!

We rode Delancy West yesterday and had a guy come out of his house yelling at us saying the cops were on the way.  Then a couple of "hunters" in a pickup with no bed or tag started following us around.  Not sure if they were lost or just trying to mess with us.  Good thing there were 14 of us and only 2 of them!!!

Today we were riding in the area of NFS88 and 10 and I got hit in the back with a stick or rock or something that was thrown from either my tire or someone behind me.  I almost crapped my pants because we had ridden by a couple of hunters in the last few minutes.  I thought sure I had been shot!!! Shocked

One guy stopped while we were unloading and and told us where he was going to be hunting and very nicely asked that we not ride by him.  We respectfully stayed away from that area completely.

Besides getting yelled at, stalked, and shot I thought we had a blast  Tongue

we were out there this weekend too, near the mill dam area....a LOT of hunters...if we saw vehicles ahead on the trails we either simply slowly putted by the area, or just turned around..

went down by big scub (whoop city) yesterday ... OMFG all the people there...the campground was PACKED like i've never seen it.

they should be glad that yall ran by......seeing that you might have chased a deer by them and actually had a deer they seen and could have shot at.Coming from a  hunter(just got home actually from hunting) the noise dont scare them ...most of the time the just lay down and let you pass by unless they are crossing the road or in an open area.

And hey shouldnt be complaining about you riding seeing where they are hunting at.

it isn't the fear of scaring the deer.  You just don't know where the shot is going.  I hunted with a group up there and they took 72 shots at this deer before it was brought down.I know it sounds crazy but it's true.  These guys are not bad shots but .........

I went up there today but didn't ride many trails.  Just stayed on the power line.  That sucks but it helps with endurance and racing.
