Polaris Sportsman 2000 advice seeking

I have come across one that a friend is selling.  It only has 50 hrs, it comes with a winch and it has been garaged most of its life up in North Carolina.

Should I be concerned with the age? even though it only has 50 hrs.
What should I worry about?  Will end up been a maintenance nightmare?
What is a fair price?

My primary riding purpose will be trail ridding with my small kids up in croom.
