K&N air filters

This weekend I was cleaning my K&N air filter when I noticed a crack in the air intake tube. I bought the K&N FIPK air intake kit about a year and a half ago for my Chevy Silverado and remembered that they have a lifetime warranty on their products so I called their customer service hotline. I talked to a Sherri and she said that I should take some pictures of the crack and email them to her along with my address, make and model of my vehicle and a contact number. The next business day I get a call from Sherri and she said that they were shipping the new part to me free of charge. I must say that this is some of the best customer service I have ever gotten. Sherri was nothing but polite and shipped the new part without any questions asked. K&N definitely has a happy customer here.

Yea K&N is great when it comes to Warranty
And remember to keep all the bolts and screws tight on the intake. I have a K&N intake in our Lightning and some screws got loose after 1 yr of driving..

That's awesome, hard to find service like that. Doubt I'll ever reach the life-time/1 million mile warranty on my quad.

Here is a good K&N story. 6 Months ago, I bought a K&N jet kit for an 83 Honda Shadow from them on ebay. After the auction ends, they tell me they longer carry it and it was a listing error. For my inconvenience, they said they would send me an air filter for the bike for free. I said I already bought one, which I did a week before. So, they sent me one for my 400EX. Can't beat that!!

I'm running a K&N on my Z400 with an Outerwears on the filter and the lid. It is definitely a high-flowing filter, the key is to keep it clean and well-oiled. The reason K&N's flow so good is the medium they use is more "porous" than foam, which makes it easier for small dirt to get in. I clean mine after every ride and make sure it's fitted to the intake adapter, so far no probs.
