Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what to do with my car. The motor is seized and it is not something I have the money to have fixed.
However I am stuck with this car and I don't know what to do with it.

if your engine seized up. your options are: 1. rebuild engine(most expensive) 2. used engine(least expensive) 3. get rid of car(option to consider if car is not worth it)
if you dont mind me asking what knda car is it?

Its a 98 Ford Contour, 6cyl, dohc (I love my car ) 1 and 2 are not options since I can't afford to do either. Unless you know where I can get a really cheap engine. I was told the Labor is going to kill me since my motor sits sideways. Everything is labor intensive on this damn car, because of the engine. Option 3 is what I need to do. I just don't know where to get rid of it at. I don't want to get rid of it but know I can't fix it either. I had the transmission rebuilt at 60,243 miles back in 10/04. The car now has 95,xxx miles on it.

my advice would be to get rid of it. those contours also have a defect with the wiring harness(the insulation comes apart). go to autotrader.com and see what they are selling for verses what it will cost you to fix. you will probably be surprised. those cars dont hold their value. have faith and everything will be fine. ps- next time check your oil level and temp gauge to prevent this from happening again. gery

My suggestion is get rid of it. I sell auto parts for a living, for 22 years. Everything on those cars is expensive. It will cost 3 times what it is worth to fix it.

That was 2 months ago. So I really don't know why this happended. The only recent thing that went wrong with it was the A/C belt broke and I haven't replaced it. Iwas told again labor intensive. I just left it shredded on the pully...I know that is stupid but I couldn't get to it to take it completely off. So I have no idea why the motor seized. How do I just get rid of it? do I take it someplace.

Who said it is seized??? Check the starter.....
Was the car sitting??? If so and it is seized, take all 6 plugs out and spray a healthy amount of penetrating oil(PB Blaster) into clylinder on top of pistons and let sit for a couple days.. After that if the starter wont turn the motor loose, take a brass pipe through plug hole and tap on each piston head firmly.... This has worked for me many times... Sounds rediculous but ask around it works!
Check your oil pump

Where are you located, someone might be able to confirm whether or not it is locked up

Wouldn't a locked A/C compressor mean no A/C. I have ice cold A/C. Bugman - I was driving my car when it happened. It has never been sitting.
