I was thinking about going up there on Saturday and hitting some trails up there. If anyone is pretty fimiliar with the forest and knows of some good places for some nice smoother trails, let me know. I have seen a lot of the southern trails and was wondering if the Northern part of the forest was worth taking a look at. I know this weekend a lot of people will be with family but I am sure there has got to be at least one or two people that are heading there! Let's ride! Grin

Great! You are just the person we need to meet up with. We plan on being there early like 7:30 on the south side. It will probably be me and two other friends (2 sport quads and 1 utility). We were thinking of meeting off of FR 588 but we are not sure what the trails are like over there. We're looking to ride some "whoop free" trails if you know what I mean? Is FR 588 a good place to start?

I am going riding in the north end today to check out the new trail system...I dont really know for sure how much of the south end is still open since they are working on phase 2 in that area of the forest. If you want to ride some trails that arent all whooped out you may want to try the north end or even the new trail in the south end named Wandering Wiregrass. It is located in the south end of the forest east of big scrub and hwy 19...The WW trail is 16.7 miles long and it should be groomed from what I am hearing!  Yes forest road 588 has trails all over both sides but they are pretty beaten up since this area of the forest gets the most use from atvs. I know alot of out of towners love to ride and camp at big scrub but personally I think its to busy and the trails are way too bumpy for my blood!  Let me know what you want to do and we'll try and get together...

Thanks for the info. If you got the time, come meet up with us. We are going to be parked off of
CR 445 near the power lines on the south side. We know of some good open trails over there that are pretty much "whoop free" and nice enough for everyone to enjoy. We should be there about 7:30 - 8:00 in the morning. We are coming from Tampa so we like to get started early and get as much riding time in before the wives start nagging...lol. Just look for a Tahoe, Yukon, and F-150. Drop on by and say hi, we'll leave the light on for ya! Wink

I will try to be there. If I go I will park in the same spot as last time (CR445 and Powerlines). I went out on Saturday and man was it fun. I came up with 2 other guys but unfortunately they had to go home early because they sustained damage to their atvs while riding through the trails. I actually ended up riding with these other guys that I never met before and man could these dudes ride! You would have liked riding with them John. If I go, I will probably be out there early. I'll look for ya.
