DURHAMTOWN NEWS
DP has been hot and dusty for several weeks
we have just enjoyed 2 days of rain showers in the afternoons with this moisture we are able to get on the track with machinery and work
we worked the Big track today the Swamp & MX-4 tomorrow then on to MX-5&6
we are now working the Peewee track every Friday and Monday we now have water available all over with fire hydrants
this will help with the kids MX races ( start again in sept) see Racing on the forums for schedule
all of the new woods trails and single track is holding up really well with the dry weather
BMX TRACKS.......
we have built 2 new BMX (bicycle) tracks behind the lodge in the past 2 weeks it looks really cool and fun to ride we have one that is good for beginners and a more advanced one for older kids
so far it has been a big hit
we now have BMX bikes for rent Small and Medium sizes with helmets $15/half day $$25 full day to rent
ride fees are free with riding bands or $10/day for BMX only
it has table tops- wooden berms-see saws- ramp to ramp- berm to ramp- 8ft high take offs and alot more
we have cemented the faces of all the jumps so they stay really crisp and they hold up in the rain
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING BICYCLES when you come
we are adding lights to it this week
PROSHOP
we are having some big sales on PROSHOP items we have some Thor & Fox gear on sale 40% off retail
All of the 2007 line up of gear will be ordered over the next 2 weeks Tucker Rocky has invited us down to Orlando next week to see all of the new 2007 Answer/MSR new products we will be stocking a lot of new LADIES GEAR cool pink and purple colors
we are invited to the Parts Unlimited Home office /headquarters #1 warehouse in August to see a lot of new products and meet with the manufacturers on our future orders
they will process any order and have it on a UPS truck with in 45 minutes of placing the order on the way to us now that is service at its best Sherre and I have been there and seen it…. Awesome #1 automated warehouse in America

WILDLIFE
we have added some really nice wide trails along the creek and river behind the lodge and will pass by many food plots and feeders we are offering these as golf cart trails they make a nice scenic ride after dinner so if you have a side by side Rhino- Ranger-Mule- Golf cart ask about the scenic ride we will not allow any bikes or atvs on the trail
we are enhancing the wildlife habitat behind the lodge like never before for viewing
this trail will also be open for bicycles at any time approx 3 miles
FISHING
We have drained the catfish pond behind the lodge we are removing all of the silt from 4 yrs of MX riding this is why the pond never cleared up (catfish kept it stirred up) we have added 2 silt ponds to correct the problem restocking with BASS and BREAM for family fishing then enhancing the camp sites for future use
We also are draining the kiddie pond behind the shooting range, 35 yrs of silt has reduced the size by 50% we will dredge and widen it also over the next month restock with Bass and Bream for kids fishing
We have appreciated the “Breather” over the past month it allowed us to catch up on some projects we added a new parking lot next to the peewee track that is shaded
Bathrooms will be added this fall we are getting permits for them and soil test done
NEW Go Carts/sand buggies are being added in a few weeks we have been testing for a new company called CROSSFIRE for 3 months they are DP APPROVED for jumping and durability in MUD with a reverse they are in production over seas and will be delivered in JULY/August DP will be renting and selling them at discounts we are also testing a new brand of ATVs (3 months also) it will go into production this fall with all of the good features from many brands combined
DP will continue to use KYMCO in our fleet as well
We have added another mechanic to our shop and have a better turn around time for any repairs you may need our rates are $50/hr for ACTUAL shop time
KTM PARTS
DP will be adding KTM parts to our popshop inventories we have so many of them breaking down while riding here and it is almost impossible to find parts in GA in stock
We are working with a KTM dealer to have parts on hand and we will also begin to carry many more HARD PARTS for all brands of bikes and ATVS open 7 days a week 8am-10 pm if you need them and we have them call ahead we will open to get them
Riding has slowed down with the summer heat but we are over 35% higher in growth from last year DP want to thank each of you for supporting us and all of the riding parks in Ga with all of the new parks coming online Ga will soon be the #1 destination on the East coast for offroad riding and soon will be recognized how much we contribute to the state’s income with more riding areas comes more popularity for the sport which benefits everyone in the industry
RACING
DP harescrambles and kids MX racing starts back again in September
12 HOUR race Sept 30 Saturday daylight till dark

HUNTING
Hunting should be at its best this fall we are spending more on hunting the ever before more food plots larger food plots over 25 new 2-4 man stands (great for families) 3 scouts for assisting you in locating your Buck
