A senic highway through the ONF. You know what that will mean. CAG is an enviromental group looking to put a senic corridor through the ONF. Enviromental groups that are involved with this are Scrub Jay group, along with the ONFA. Preserve our trails for riding.. Environmental groups..

Excuse my ignorance, is this good news or bad ?  I've never been to ONF that's why I ask.

This is TERRIBLE NEWS. You riders that ride there in ONF are in peril unless you fight this. I have been posting about this for like 2 months now....

This will mean that anyone who cares and rides at ONF "MUST BE AT THE NEXT OHV MEETING" IN OCALA.  It's in January SO PLAN AHEAD NO EXCUSES like the last OHV meeting.

I might be dumb but isn't that what the onfa logo is - to help keep our trails. I am being to think that they are also part of the environmentalist, first ONFA was mentioned in an earlier thread about parterning with Wildlaw, now partnering with the Black Bear senic byway.

This has nothing to do with the OHV adisory meeting in January. That I think is a different issue. If you want to read abut the 60 mile corridor they want to bulid the link is: www.sr40.com. There was a meeting today, in Ocala, and they is another meeting scheduled for December 7, 2006, don't know where yet. Three of the USFS people are also involved in this process. It looks like the 60 mile corridor is through the ONF.

At the meeting in Ft Myers a few of these issues came up but at the time were premature. That's why I mentioned the OHV Advisory.

Here's information on one of the ladies that sits on this SCENIC HIGHWAY BOARD. This is SERIOUS FOLKS, NO BS.....

Folks,ONF is under attack by the guise of trying to get a SCENIC HIGHWAY DESIGNATION. The lady that sits on this commission is Linda Duever, she's with the WILDLANDS PROJECT. Here's her link

http://www.conway.com/cconserv/History%20of%20SEWP.htm

You can decide to fight against this, or sit on your a$$ and lose another area.
