Broad River ATV in Elberton, GA

Here are a couple of pics from Broad River ATV near Elberton, GA. It is a new private trail system that welcomes everyone.
www.broadriveratv.com
They have over sixty miles of trails and are working on it constantly. They have porta-potties on the trails in various spots and a huge shelter with pic-nic tables and ceiling fans to cool off and shoot the breeze. Many of us here think they will soon be the best place to ride in GA. They are going to build mx tracks and some kiddie trails/tracks. Once they get the tracks, they'll be the very best. They have dug out mud bogs everywhere and bypass trails around them for those of us with sport quads. All hazards are marked in time to slow down or let you know to take the bypass. Many of the trails are fast and they have added some hilly trails in the last few weeks. I can't say enough about the staff. If you go, they will ask what you would like to see more of and if you have any complaints. They require helmets and don't allow alcohol on the trails. The only people I have heard complain wanted to ride without helmets and drink while they rode. This is my 4 yr old son after getting bucked off while distracted by the water on each side of him:

This is me and my little brother (I'm on the left) after playing in the mud:

If the image fails, please try again immediately. For some reason, it doesn't work for me the first time I click on it. It may say "forbidden". Keep trying please. Let me know if it works.

I'm not sure how far along they are on the campsites. I think they are ready for people to camp in tents, I'm not sure about campers. They have cabins that sleep six for $75/night. The cabins have screened front porches and pic-nic tables out front as well as a place for a camp fire. If their website is back up, it will give you more info.

I'm sure they allow tents. You can ask on their site. The site references two types of trails, one slow, one fast. They haven't went to that yet. Everyone can ride all trails as fast as they want. It's all one way.

Is it better than Durhamtown, if you've been there?

In my opinion yes. I haven't been to d'town since their owner went off on a rant about quads a while back on one of their forums. See for yourself here
http://www.georgiaoffroad.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11258&highlight=atv+impact
Once Broad River gets their tracks built, they'll be the best in the state in my opinion. The trails at Broad River are already better than I remember d'town being. But I haven't been there since last year.
I've spoken to people in the Georgia ATV Riders Assn. and the ones I've spoken with feel the same. The owners of Broad River welcome quads and you'll never hear them complain about ATVs or their riders. Their hospitality can't be beat. Remember they are just starting out, so as far as comparing their accomodations to a place that has been open for so long is not really fair. They will make you feel like family though and are working hard.
I'll find out more about the camping there. Sorry I just don't know. I live about an hour and a half away and would rather just drive down there, being that close. BTW, Broad River is not far from d'town.

Well, they'll blame that on the quad riders. Broad River has a lot of mud, but they have told me that we pay to ride and they get paid to fix trails. I like their attitude!

It does get kind of muddy @ Durhamtown, but it's almost totally avoidable. The time my friend Tim and I went, if we would've stayed on the mud free trails, our quads would've probably just been dusty. All I'm saying is Durhamtown is definitely worth checking out!! I do want to go somewhere new next time heading to GA. possibly Broad River.

If you try Broad River, you'll be impressed. It gets better all of the time. I used to like d'town too, so I know what your saying. If I rode a dirtbike I'd still go to d'town.

Thanks. I just ordered him some new riding duds from Dennis Kirk. Can't beat their closeout prices - $50 for a pair of thor phase pants and two phase jerseys. He has had that quad since before he was three and still loves it.

Broad River now has showers and a pressure washer so you can wash up before leaving or just wash off some of the mud during the day. They seem to get better and better all the time!

1. Thanks
2. It's near Elberton GA (12 miles from Elberton on hwy 77). Maybe twenty miles from DP.
In that area, there is bound to be mud anywhere. I like getting into some mud so I'm not sure if you'd like it or not. I've never ridden anywhere without mud. But there are bypass trails around the deep holes. The only time I've seen mud on the main loop that you couldn't avoid was after they had over six inches of rain in a week.
If you want to ride through the week, just call ahead and they'll be sure to accomodate you. The cabins are super NICE!!!

Check out their website. They've added about $100,000 worth of campers for out-of-towners to stay in. I only live an hour away and am thinking about getting one for a weekend.

We have talked about going to this place. We passed it on our way from Durhamtown to Athens a couple weeks ago.
