This was on their site,
www.fox4florida.com
:
(Lee County, FL) -- FOX 4 got several viewer calls and emails regarding ATV riders in Cape Coral who are riding illegally on private land. They wanted to know where they're supposed to ride because of the lack of recreational land for off roading. Port Charlotte resident David Lang says its getting harder and harder to find a place to ride. Lee County Commissioner Bob Janes says the county and Parks and Rec have identified an area that might be appropriate to look for some land that will be utilized for ATV use. Janes isn't anxious to disclose where the new off roading park might be, because he doesn't want to get ATV riders hopes up.
Atleast it looks like we are getting our point across... I think if we flood the media with intelligent e-mails about the lack of legal riding areas in Florida they will see just how popular of a topic it is, and a popular topic means more ratings for them. Its a win win situation for us and the media if we can work with them in a positive way and have them say positive things about us.

In other words, he just got off the phone with Collier County and they told him to say that..
"If you build it, they will come"

I know this might be jumping the gun a little. But the state is trying to buy the 74,000 acres at Babc0ck ranch. I know some of that are preserves that they want to save but a lot is pasture land. Could the state put aside a couple of thousand for an OHV park like croom.

I agree with sending the intelligent emails to the news organizations and showing that we have a little common sense. They are reading them, they quoted my email 2 or 3 times and someone else a couple of times. And they’re asking the questions to the commissioners. With the emails and the Collier County protest we are being heard. Squeaky wheels guys!

EXACTLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE need to take this state wide.If everyone does there part locally the attention is drawn. Then we all set a date while it is a hot topic to stage a protest again same day for all areas county wide in same location for each respective area. Now all of a sudden we have news coverage from every little section of the state on the same day and that gets point across for the real issue of paying registeration fees & not opening more areas!
Bravo!!!!!!!!!
