i just got my son a z400 with a yoshi exhaust and i'm not sure the guy jetted it(he says he did). i took the carb apart(unrelated problem) and all i can see on both jets was what looked like a number 60 but not sure. does anyone know where i can find out what jet size it should have and what jet kit works well with a yoshi trs titanium?

thanks, gery

Gery, I assume that's a Keihin carb? The 60 is a pretty big idle jet. I have a 55 on my zilla. It's a tad lean but doesn't Keihin go up in sizes like 2 then 3 (55,58,60, etc)?  Does it pull on the top end or after mid range does it kinda fall on it's face? How is the throttle response from 1/2 to full? -Mark

it responds like a beast at all positions(low, mid, and full)
i just wasnt sure if the previous owner had in fact jetted it.
but if your saying 60 is big then i guess he did in fact jet it.
the bike runs incredibly strong.
thanks mark for your insight. i guess a 60 then is fine.
thanks again.

No prob Gery. But to be safe, give it a quick blast then shut it off and pull the plug and check the color. 2 strokes are easier to tell if they are running lean/rich by how much they smoke but 4 strokes are harder to tell. The spark plug test will tell if your jetting is good.  -Mark

if the bike is running really hot then its lean and probally wasnt rejetted. but otherwise if its running good ide say leave it alone.
