How do you get the front Caliper off of a 05 Vinson..am I missing something?

LOL...yeah I know that...but there is a silver shaft preventing me from removing the caliper......will not back off far enough to all othe caliper to come off......I am assuming if I c-clamp the piston....it should help...but I am not sure how that will get me over the shaft/bolt looking thing....
